I have a ton of compassion for people and I feel that her life was horrible to say the least, but if the 7 men she murdered had documentaries maybe you would feel bad for them too. She probably had some mental trouble before she killed, due to family and childhood, and prostitution. Then something probably snapped in her brain afer she killed the first man. Yet, the research of the last 20 years is indicating that the previous belief that it's ALL nurture is questionable. Some people really are just born that way. Ted Bundy had a great childhood by his own admission then blamed his killings on a porn addiction. The book is on amazon and in stores.

His mother was a hardcore alcoholic, had Manson at age 16, and he was put in the foster system at age 4 or 5 when his mother was arrested for robbing a gas station. After her parole a few years later she took him back. When he was 14, she tried to put him in a foster home. He ended up in a boys school. He ran away from the boys school back to his mother, but she rejected him. I guess we cannot blame Manson either.

I dunno what really happened but I think she deserved the death penalty since she did murder men in cold blood. @Tarzan3096 There is certainly a "nurture" (vs. Nature) component, no doubt. The Robert Hare book, Without Conscience, talks somewhat about the "nurture" aspect, but not in great depth. Yet, the research of the last 20 years is indicating that the previous belief that it's ALL nurture is questionable. Some people really are just born that way. Ted Bundy had a great childhood by his own admission then blamed his killings on a porn addiction. The book is on amazon and in stores.

His mother was a hardcore alcoholic, had Manson at age 16, and he was put in the foster system at age 4 or 5 when his mother was arrested for robbing a gas station. After her parole a few years later she took him back. When he was 14, she tried to put him in a foster home. He ended up in a boys school. He ran away from the boys school back to his mother, but she rejected him. I guess we cannot blame Manson either.

Everything went wrong for her since she was born - given away, abused, mom died, prostitution, and so on. And society failed to notice and help her all along. it's surprising she didn't go berserk before. This is not a case of irrational behaviour, it's a very reasonable outcome that could and should have been prevented.

she did not deserve to be executed. To me she was a victim all her life that had no choice, everbody propably took advantage of her. The anger against her mother, which is understandable, this woman did not realize that her child slept in the snow.
