Gri gris do not easily fail, they are probably the safest belaying device for climbing. I usually use a gri gri in the gym and an ATC outdoors.

um that looked like a grigri belaying device and if your not an expert i don't recommend using one cause you'll put to much trust in it and it can easily fail so i like to go with the good old ATC and carabiner

@theplague9 haha.. easily fail... proper knowledge along with a gri gri is safer than a normal belay/atc, you dont need to be a 'expert' to use a gri gri properly.. although i do use a atc too as its easier for sport climbing, its easeir to control the rope for me.. :P
