My wife got me my first Catahoula for Valentines day. And other than my German Shepherd, that is the SMARTEST dog I've ever had. And like you said, she can run all day and curl up with my girls at the end of the day. Great dog.

I agree, I have a blue merle rescue Catahola, Jackson. Best dog I ever had. Always had retrievers, but Jackson just thinks in the field better than all the rest. He follows out 20 field commands. stop, go, left right,stalk , tree, bring, follow, lead,wait, slow etc. all hand and whistles....amazing dog, been hunting with him for two years, he just knows what i want all the time, great with the family and other dogs too. never get another labrador after this.

Nah, the baby pig wasn't harmed. He was just barked at a bit. They are used to that. They used to get out an drive the dogs crazy! They didn't even bat an eye. And those dogs were only pups, Booger was like 35lbs & Daisy was only like 25lbs.

Beautiful dogs!! I'd never really heard of Catahoulas before (i'm from Ohio) and I've been researching more and more ever since I saw a pic of one. Someday I want to have a lot of acres and get a bigger dog. I've always wanted a lab and a coon dog. I think I want one of these now!

Catahoula's are LOTS of fun! I couldn't ask for a better ALL AROUND dog. They can run a nasty hog, but are sweet enough to come home and sleep in my kids beds! Awesome breed!

We bay/train our dogs in our pen or in friends of ours pens. We hunt them on private land owned by friends of ours or family.
