  • very impressive ...

  • i thought the ethical problems were that if someone was payed enough money they would be able to make sure a child looks are certain way . some people think this is playing god. i think the human genome projects it alright, it could really help people.

  • Let's face it. Every single one of you fuckers are going to have your genetic profile associated with your rfid chip, and everyone will be segregated, secretly through information laundering... unless we get the power back tot he people, somehow. I don't see that happening anytime soon, which means that all the corrupt uppers who give grants to scientists, will own everything that comes from science. That is why science fails. It is pure, until it needs funding, and it always needs funding.

  • yah reminds me of that movie GATTACA

  • the people fighting the genome project for ethical reasons are like people fighting the car because it can potentially crash into someone.

  • or like the promotion of book burning in ancient times.

  • @evilblades

    Thank you!

  • hehe, for what? :P

  • He He

    For your comment.

  • The problem with scientific advancement isn't the science itself, it's the fact that ALL scientific advancement needs funding. Every scientific advancement rightfully belongs to the people, but in reality will always belong to the corrupt world powers that control the money systems. I don't fight the human genome project, but I'm not a fan of giving the enemy of the people more knowledge and technology either... Just something we all need to think about. This is not a car.

  • This is really important stuff. All that we know about the human genome is rising at an exponential rate. I think that many of us will live much longer lives than we expected because of this technology.

  • What is an ethical problem with this?

  • Good point ;) I think they mean, if some people that have a power to get their hands on our genetic information, may more easily be able to find organ donors, or may be will not get married to people who may get Alzheimer's disease later in life. There is a sea of information out there, but not all should know about it. May be some humans think that other humans are not morally advanced enough to handle such freedom of information properly, just like with anything else ...

  • People may use the fact that someone has a chance of developing a heart problem, and so they cant be allowed a job that pays more but only on a long term basis, if there isnt a cure for a codition someone is likely to develope if the rest of the world discovers this condition they may choose to hinder the career prospects of this person.

  • @LilMayjin

One (potential) ethical problem is that some ins. companies may not want to insure you if they know that you have some serious genetic defects.

I personal support the genome project because I think it would really help more people than hurt them.

  • I can imagine the moral and ethical conflicts involved could be a Pandora's Box if in the wrong hands. What if Hitler knew about genetic manipulation? Yikes!

  • waow KOOL!!

  • i loved it!

  • thank you!

  • Thankyou for the video

  • LucianoMyths, you are welcome!

  • its good but not so clear

  • Not you guys. The people who made this video. I'm not falling for their trap. Leave my genes alone! You are getting too personal.

  • just what i needed, concise and clear information.

  • Man wants to play God(no matter what he comes up with people are still going to die like I heard they are creating biogene weapons that could destroy a whole race based on things they know about their qenetic makeup(bible calls em inventors of evil things)

  • I'm so glad we're getting our information from government commercials......
