I hate arguments over which band is better because nobody is going to change their minds, I sure as hell wouldn't but anyway. These guys are sick as well as MuDvAyNe and SlipKnoT (and plenty others), so lets redirect our anger towards hardcore dancing because lets be honest, that shit has no place in a moshpit.
@rharper9 seeing that mudvayne still makes music and nothingface is no long together im sure mudvayne smacked them hard...but they arnt even competing....
I give nothingface props because they were some of the first to be heavy but still really melodic. Slipknot was 1999 Mudvayne and Disturbed were 2000. The only bands that you could argue that did this type of nu-metal before them are deftones and korn. Korn wasn't even this heavy or melodic and deftones music can't really be compared because I don't really consider the deftones nu-metal. If I'm wrong, or there are more bands that I missed please reply.

Slipknot's first album Mate Feed Kill Repeat was released in 1996. :) I think it's crap though that so many people are like "They are such a copy of Mudvayne." They came before Mudvayne how could they be a copy? I personally think they were one of the hardest nu-metal bands out there at the time with good melodic songs.

It's criminal that these guys didn't get the acclaim they sorely deserve. Bands like Nothingface, Vision of Disorder and Willhaven were far superior to any of the nu-metal crap they were shoving down our throats at the turn of the millenium.

An Audio Guide to Everyday Atrocity, is by far, one of the most inspirational and jaw dropping metal albums to date...14 years have passed since it's debut and it still resonates with me...This album is a must have for any true metal lover in my personal opinion
Just started listening to Nothingface today. They are pretty good. Not much of a fan of this album though this is like the best song on it for me. IMO MuDvAyNe is better but this band is sick.

This is the second song I've ever heard by Nothingface (the first being Blue Skin). And, shit, I gotta say I'm impressed. You really CAN tell that Mudvayne got their inspiration from Nothingface. Sure, Ryan (bass player for Mudvayne) may not have, as you can tell a VERY distinct difference in his style. But other than that, you can SERIOUSLY see that Mudvayne's roots are in this band, for sure. Love it. =P

An Audio Guide to Everyday Atrocity, is by far, one of the most inspirational and jaw dropping metal albums to date...14 years have passed since it's debut and it still resonates with me...This album is a must have for any true metal lover in my personal opinion

Just started listening to Nothingface today. They are pretty good. Not much of a fan of this album though this is like the best song on it for me. IMO MuDvAyNe is better but this band is sick.

This is the second song I've ever heard by Nothingface (the first being Blue Skin). And, shit, I gotta say I'm impressed. You really CAN tell that Mudvayne got their inspiration from Nothingface. Sure, Ryan (bass player for Mudvayne) may not have, as you can tell a VERY distinct difference in his style. But other than that, you can SERIOUSLY see that Mudvayne's roots are in this band, for sure. Love it. =P

I've had the privilege of seeing them throughout the Violence and Skeletons tour around MD and even their last show in 06. Maxwell is one of the best guitarist because of his style which is all about the groove and power and how many shitty bands are out there now that sound life NF clones? To many!

mudvayne tribut is 1996 not 2000... 2000 Is the album LD50...but their first album is Kill, I Oughtta o.k... and mudvaynes style is Imimitable... do you see the their make up is that nothingface, no it isn't and MuDvAyNe dosn't sound like nothingface... nothingfaces first album is on 1997.. o.k...?? I like Nothingface too but most liked are MuDvAyNe...And are my minds too... Sad is that nothingface broke up 2009... Tom Maxwell is in the Band HELLYEAH the idea from MuDvAyNe... (I'm German!!!)

@Deathshire1 You're right it is about the music. Rock, Hard Rock, Hair Bands, Metal, Thrash Metal I love it all. As long as it kick ass. A killer guitar riff followed by the roar of the base guitar followed by some awesome drumbing topped off by some good vocals. This song has all the requirements.

Nothingface stands out from the croud, to say Matt's voice sounds like Corey Taylor is just ridiculous. they have totally different style. Anyways Corey sings for money while Matt sings for the pleasure of making music. That's why Nothingface will always be better than Slipknot in my eyes.
