Hi! After you make two folds to find the center of you paper,then you fold the very begging fold the side of paper to the certer. Check your paper not too close to each other. Give a little tiny space,you will see the two sides of paper slit apart, never try to do the perfect job like the other projects of 'paper folding'. The other two sides do the same to the center too. After that step, evrything can be the way you do(perfect).

I was learn from my Mom.Hard to explain to you.Finding center of paper,there are two way.one is two fold to make a square, the other is two fold to make a triangle.For the birds, you need to make triangle one.Than You open one side of Tri- to push down flat(corner to the corner,sorry you have to try this yourself)to make a square.Than the other side of Tri- too. This is a very genernal idea of "Paper Folding" skill. I don't know why Japaness made the perfect paper for folding art and still

not get the very basic Paper Folding skill.(sorry! Didn't mean to hurt you. I like-love the folding paper made by Japan).Simple way to say "give your paper bird a open space to fly,your paper bird's downward center should be loose".And you can try to use a pencil or ballpoint pan to roll on wings. Same direction like here.If you roll the other direction, you will need to hold the paper bird's the other end, and fly your paper bird backward. It's fun to watch kids laugh at this stupid flying bird

i learned this from a book, if you know how to fold a crane, its exactly the same but you skip one step, the step that makes a skinnier neck and tail for the crane
