I used to watch wrestling growing up as a kid. During the golden years of wrestling I remember my eyes would be glued to the tv. Macho Man was part of the crew that entertained millions of families in their living rooms across America. As kids, we would pretend to be Macho Man, Hulk Hogan, etc.. and we would wrestle. If he would have continued with the Rated R Attitude, that would have faded. He changed it to PG so that he can have the product more of what it was like before the Monday Night Wars began. As a kid I remember my parents and I ordering this PPV on April 2nd, 1989 @ 4pm Eastern Time. That Sunday, we made sure that all the chores were done early around the house and we cooked our food very early that day as well so we can sit back and watch the Mega Powers explode along with Warrior vs Rude, Jake vs Andre, Beefcake vs DiBiase, Hercules vs Haku, which were all anticipated matches at the time. Great times in wrestling when storylines truly meant something that'll never be forgotten.

I know what you mean..And The Fact that WWF Superstars & WWF Wrestling Challenge were back to back days on the weekend made it more special..I loved the times when they'd have jobbers vs superstars and then there'd be at least 1 big feature match on the that every1 was tuning into see. Back then, WWF didn't shove it's product down out throats.Buildup & good scripts were well written & given enough time to evolve and when the matches and moments happened, it was truly special.

Yanno what's funny? As a kid I was a HUGE Hulkamaniac and completely bought into the hype. Now that I'm 35 and looking back on the early Wrestlemanias, it's pretty clear that Hogan gave great promos and that was about it. Randy Savage was truly one of the best wrestlers, if not THE best.
