I see images of the anti-government protests that have taken place in various parts of the world within this year every time this song plays. Hmm...I wonder why. Regardless, I don't think that's an accident. Indeed, if you destroy the working parts, you get a broken machine: a beacon of light on a burning screen, as per the lyrics- not too different from what's happened in our real world as of late.

@lordmagicpants I was thinking exactly the same thing, with its uplifting beat, and deep lyrics that I haven't seen or heard almost forever in modern music. It's what I sought out one night when I got tired of listening to other people's music redone by modern artists, as well as almost countless musical videos and songs promoting hatred, anger, elitism and the like. Thank you, Protomen, for showing that modern artists CAN promote positive messages in their creations.

@LupinThe3rd1986 This, and a select few others are really The Protomen's only "uplifting" song. So much of their songs are about death, (Hope Rides Alone, Vengence, The Sons of Fate, The Fall), anger, (Funeral for a Son, Vengence, etc.) It's actually pretty weird that they have such an uplifting song , only for tragedy to strike the very next song.

I'm going to be honest. I didn't even know these guys existed until last Saturday night at Nerdapalooza. After watching them perform Act I, I walk out of the convention center with 2 CDs, a wristband, a t-shirt and a vinyl and came back the next night to watch them perform Act II.

To anyone who is wondering why this album is slower paced and less fast punkish than their first it's because the first is during the huge battle so it's raw fast punk because it sets up that dystopia, warish, end of the world tone, while this one is before that so the sound is kind of like the calm before the storm
