Section 8 housing and food stamps are the major reason why we have stagflation. These programs allow produces to never lower prices in economic hard times pushing their cost of ownership onto the tax payer, while working people have to put in 60-80 hours a week to cover the cost of these programs and pay high rices for rent and food.
The next time the economy is booming, you need to do what most Americans are doing during this current stagflation: take on a second job (even if you don't need the money), cut expenses, save money, buy gold and other commodities. In booming times, it's easier to find a second job and also it's easier to save money as nobody is competing for cheap stuff.
During recessions and stagflations, you need to live it up, because it'll be cheaper to do so when nobody can afford it.. You win both ways.
Exactly how I explained it to my 6 year old neice. She got it. Most American citizens don't get it or don't care enough to be drawn away from the t.v. long enough to find out.
