I fish lower lemon bay in about 18 to 24 inches of water. I don't cast until I see a redfish tail and then try to drop the bait, a piece of shrimp with no weight, about 5 ft. in the direction the fish seems to be moving.
@ifish941 - Thanks. It was just "small" enough to keep! I'm in the second canal off Lemon Creek and fish the area with a 21 ft. Century but I just can't resist taking the canoe out at first light looking for the tails.

Hey where did u catch him I've tried south of the bridge mainly and drifting on the flats with DOA shrimp in lemon bay

yea i know what you meen i fish with my neighbor in his kayaks alot but have not caught a redfish like that inshore yet
