  • Great job!

    Its fantastic!

my project - antidote-mod _dot_ net

  • Dear Esther

  • 1 - do you always compile after a minor adjustment

2 - HOW DO YOU MAKE EVERYTHING LOOK SO UN-HAMMER LOOKING

3 - you're so good it makes me want to cry

  • @UnitedBrooks23

    1. I knew ahead of time that I wanted to do a time lapse video, so yes.

    2. That's because the scene as a whole has extra details in it that you would never put in a normal hl2 map. This map in it's current state would never be playable for the player to walk around in.

    3. You should look up Dear Esther. That mod has truly taken the source engine to the next level.

  • So you actually listen to this music while you work ? LOL

  • wow. nice ocean wave effects

  • niice

  • Hey Vivi, how did you make that timelapse.. did you just set up camera with info_target for manual screenshots.

  • what is "nod graph out of date.rebuilding.."?

  • basically that means that you need to recompile navigational data for the Ai. If you have changed geometry since the last time you've done this, it asks you to rebuild it again.

  • How'd you make the aperture beauty shop sign? Were you able to do it in Hammer?

  • It was modeled out in 3ds max 7, but! you can make it in hammer. It would just take a lot longer and wouldn't look as good

  • im a mapper and im wondering how you did the "wave crashing against the rocks" effect. is that an entity or did you just animate some model?

  • env_splash is what I believe it was . :)

  • muchos gracias :)

  • Props to this vid Vivi! I dunno why but I enjoy watching it.

Guess it's my love for 3d mapping. gogo interlopers :D

  • haha i noticed some shadows in the windows that you built up and built up then figured you didnt even want them

  • cool, when can we expect it?

  • Looks good! Needs a moving camera though, if only slightly.

  • took about 8 days on and off

  • Fantastic! I'm amazed with how many incarnations you go through to get the final result. Kinda makes me feel lazy - since I probably would use the first half-decent version.

  • So how long did this take? I mean all this work for just a background version must make working on the real thing quite a hardship ;)

  • That's usually how it is in the industry, you put 110% effort into everything you are assigned. :)

  • Perfect, stunning! <3
