I like some of Jesus' teachings, but I have no reason to believe he was the son of God or that worshiping him will get me into Heaven. It's like finding peace in the frustration of looking. Be honest with yourself about what stopping you. Be honest so that you don't pass the things you are looking for and end up on an unending search for what you've passed over. Also God is allowed do anything good or evil, who will say "you can't do that" to God.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that "feelings" are to be the gauge in which one follows Christ. If a hijacker took a bus full of people and drove it off a cliff, only to have the hijacker survive... would you call it a miracle that the hijacker was the only one to survive? To further the suggestion, what if no one knew it was actually the hijacker that survived, we'd still call it a miracle. A miracle is pretty subjective... the definition lacks stability... I'm sure Bin Laden considered it a miracle for him to see his horrible atrocity succeed, too. "Gods plan" sure is contradictory!

It's like finding peace in the frustration of looking. Be honest with yourself about what stopping you. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that "feelings" are to be the gauge in which one follows Christ. It say's quite the contrary, in which one must not base their faith on feelings but rather live by the Word of God alone. Faith based on feelings is an immature, heretical teaching that a lot of American Christian Evangelicals adhere to.

@jesseusrey christians are the ones for whom this life is pointless. for them, the true life comes afterwards in heaven. atheists value our life very much because we know it is the only one we have. but go, believe in god, it doesn't affect anyone else. but when people try to sneak fallacies like 'intellilgent design' and 'irreducible complexity' into our schools and universities, then we must oppose it.
