Dude. About the game: it just ROXXXXX ALL OVER THE WAYYY I can't understand why the heck don't actual modern developers do a game LIKE THIS ONE, with THIS GAMEPLAY. I hate when you can't even get the ball out on purpose!

About you: You only do serve and volley?? I use Lendl and I swear I could getcha with all passing shots, lol.

(BTW Does someone know about playing this AWESOME game via internet multiplayer??)

I´m also looking for a way to play this game via Internet. But until now I didn`t succeed.

YES, Final Match Tennis is the best tennis game ever invented. I´m two times German Final Match Tennis Champion and in 20 years I found no new tennis game that was able to compete with this one. All Virtua Tennis & Topspin Tennis games (and of course other tennis games) are nothing compared with Final Match Tennis. In fact only Dream Match Tennis is the second notable Tennis game, but not as good as FMT.

Seriously. I think ppl should go more for the gameplay instead of the graphics.

For a 16-bit game, its quite impressive how good the physics are in this game. This game is quite realistic and just a lot of fun to play. Anyone that says a realistic tennis game wouldn't be fun has never played FMT. Funny that developers can't make a tennis game like this one for the new systems. The only thing that comes close to this is Dream Match Tennis on the PC.

technically pc engine had an 16 bit graphics chip and only 8 bit cpu. but anyway, this is the best tennis game i ever found.

Well, when using "magicengine" i hold both the spacebar and "S" and press the "right-button" 10 times and then the "left-button" 4 times.

(Default: "spacebar"=select and "S"=ButtonII)

I just found out about this game and i really love it just as much as "Super Tennis" for the Super NES.

But i have one PROBLEM: I`m using the magicengine version 1.0.0 PR 10 but i don`t know how to get to the screen where you can choose the computer level. Maybe i got to old for this ;-)

The only advice i found on the internet was:

"Hold Select + II, then press Right ten times, Left four times at the title screen." what does select + II mean??

nevermind, I got that link to work. One other question, has anyone played Super Final Match Tennis on the Super Nintendo or Hyper Final Match Tennis for the Playstation? SFMT looks great!

That link isn`t working for me buuloge. But again, has anyone actually played the original game on the TG-16 or PC engine? I just want to know if the game speed is about the same as what we see in this video. Perhaps the original game had speed options?

I just found out about this game, it's a great game and i played them all out there as well, well the most known ones at least because i had never seen this one before until today. I have only one question, does anyone have a namelist in English?

And as a result, you almost never hit a shot out in today`s tennis games and you never see cross-court rallies. But whoever designed FMT understands tennis!!!

The emulation I played seemed much slower than this. Does anyone know if the original game for the Turbo Grafix-16 was this fast or was it slower? It also seemed like going 'down the line' was a harder shot to execute just like in REAL tennis! I think thats the problem with game developers of today, they don`t know that going down the line is a harder shot then going cross court.

Yeah, FMT is the best ever. It plays a lot like another tennis game called Jennifer Capriati Tennis for the sega genesis and a little bit like Super Tennis for the SNES. Its like a combination of these two games only better. Its VERY realistic and just a lot fun to play! Shame no other game on the new systems play like it. Virtua tennis and top spin are crap when compared to FMT.

I agree with buuloge this was THE GREATEST TENNIS GAME of all time. Not in terms of graphics, the graphics were horrendous, but in terms of game play. The players play like the real professionals and the ball moves like the way they hit it. Dont know why after 17 years and like 20 different game consoles they still cant make a game as realistic as this one. I've played them all including TopSpin, Viruta Tennis, but none compares to this one.
