I love some older people think no young people know anything about what came before them. Half of the young people that listen to good music nowadays all buy vinyls.
Great song from summer of '75! I always why it stalled at #28 on the charts for two weeks and then fell off! I think it should have gone a lot higher...It's a great song!
fantástico tema. Escuchándolo, al igual que otros muchos temas de época, uno llega a la conclusión de que hoy se hace música acomplejada. Agradezcamos haber vivido mejores tiempos musicales.
This is such a great track, it's been a pet peeve of mine that every Hot Chocolate CD with this track always chops it off at the 3 minute mark. That last 20 seconds of drum break is the best part! Why did they do that on the CDs? Even the original 45 included the full ending. It's like those K Tel LPs from the 70s that chopped songs to bits so they could fit 10 on each side.
This was a very BIG hit when I was stationed in West Germany in 1975-76. Hot Chocolate was a huge succes in Europe and had a number of mega hits there. I still LOVE their music!
@bullboy13 I remember back in the mid 70's I used to listen to this on the Big 860 WGOM in Marion, IN. Yea......Marion and this song rocked back in the 70's
This was such a good song! This was Hot Chocolate's follow-up to "Emma"...It was released the summer before "You Sexy Thing"...Great backbeat! Makes me still wanna' dance!
Awesome!!!! I remember when this came out I bought the 45

@13moocher Yes I meant that ABBA sounds like Hot Chocolate, I am sorry if my english is not so good.

Wow the song is nostalgic enough but the scratchy sound of a bad needle or a dirty album is a real trip down memory lane! Thanks for the upload.....

Beyond Born to be Alive, Patrick is a flash in the pan. Hot Chocolate is always the ultimate Dance/Funk Rock group!

Very underrated song. I loved this tune back in the day and it's aged very well.

Patrick Hernandez's Disco Queen is way better I think.

Patrick Hernandez. Born to be alive? No, born to be a one hit wonder. :-P
sliv812 2 years ago
haha, one hit wonders are not a bad thing. I have never even heard of HC but everyone has heard Born to be Alive.
R3dD4wn 2 years ago
That's probably because black groups had a harder time getting air play back then.
