  • drove it to uckfield quite a few times nice to see it running again

  • Was it normal for these not the have a co drivers window in the usaul place?? What livery is this going to be put in from that hideous connex livery

  • @Trainbuff2008 Yes quite normal as the window is in the emergency exit door, and the unit is being re-painted into BR Blue once all the body has been prepped.

  • what a lot of clag

  • @thumpergriddle123 Well you would clag, if not run for quite a few years, just sitting in a siding neglected and forgotten about.

  • @EORtv1 i saws it not used on the nymr sad relly

  • Damm I may have changed the brushes for the EE motors for this if it got serviced at London selhurst (SU). Biggest turbo i've ever seen on any vehicle

  • @ms29b Wellllllllll how about coming over and doing it again?? she is due to go over the pit shortly so we can clean all the carbon dust out before applying juice to the EE507's.

  • @EORtv1 course i will cheers for the invite!

  • Nice video! How do you believe this 6,5 miles will be runned if a LT1992 stock could arrive to Ongar if 4th rail returns to this station?

  • @RDL1984 Hmm don't really know where you are coming from with this comment.

The railway is a heritage line and the 4th rail will not be returning. Perhaps you should visit

us if you ever come to England

  • @EORtv1

I would like to come, but I haven't budget to pay for a trip to London now.

  • I am interested to know if these were basically the same as the old electric 501's or 416's or the battery ones they have in east Kent.

Do they use the same EE507 traction motors?

  • @goodchappy Here you go a little bit of info for you:

Power car (one per set) * Introduced: 1957 * Weight: 56 tons * Engine: English Electric 4-cylinder type 4SRKT Mark II of 1,000 bhp (750 kW) at 850 rpm (600 shaft hp) * Transmission: Electric, two English Electric type EE507 traction motors rated at 186 kW (250 hp) each. * Maximum tractive effort: 12,500 lbs (55,602 N) * Coupling code: Standard 'Buck eye' compatible with contemporary Class 20x and 4xx units.

  • @EORtv1 Thanks for the info. So I assume they were basically the same as the 501s with engines to generate the electricity. I am amazed they still work after over 50 years.

  • @EORtv1 d

  • Thanks for giving us the opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes that most dont get to see. What interesting sounds are created in that process!!

  • @ADMIRALSCORNER You're welcome, the interesting sounds? is that the general stuff or the General Manager doing his Muttley laugh?

  • been reading the website of late and it sounds so good what you are doing and must be coming at a very large expense in money and peoples time!!! IM looking at getting involved with a railway down south (london area) due to work been moved from leeds where I have played a very active role at middleton for 5yrs. Good look and all the the best!!!!

  • @timonsouthern We would be glad of any help you can offer, plenty still to be done on site in all departments.

  • fantastic video and what a beast it is i just ordered one from kernow model shop il be down there soon for a ride soon me hopes is it running yet on the line yet???

  • @steveallen808909 Hi Steve she is still being restored atm and wont be put into service until finished, plus the running lines at Ongar have yet to be relaid to the new layout. Why not come down and volunteer and help us get this railway back up and running.

  • Nice!

  • Great stuff.

  • will it still run in its connex livery, if it did it would be the only one to.

  • Yes the 117 is now running again

  • Nice to 205205 running again, have you still got the 117 running?

  • Been some years since this old girl was fired up after all those years of neglect at NYMR. Well done guys, this is excellent progress!

  • @alrispoli Yes it was very nice to get her running, now 'all' we need to do is get her looking shipshape again, loads of bodywork to be sorted out and a deep clean. Fancy coming down!!

  • @EORtv1 Trust me, if i was to go near the bodywork or such like it would be worse than when you got it!!! I'll certainly come along and give her a drive at some point!!

  • Well done chaps, not heard a thumper for yonks !

  • Can't wait to see the Thumper operate!!! I hope the EOR will gonna reopen soon!

    Keep up the good work!
