My rabbits don't like being put on their backs, and it looks like yours doesn't either. Remember that rabbits are prey animals in the wild, and easily scared. I bet your rabbit would really appreciate it if you just petted him gently while he is sitting instead of picking him up and flipping him over.
I would never be able to trim my bunny's claws if it weren't for bunny coma. I don't have to pull on her ears, though. Just rub her belly and she freezes up. Right back to normal w/ nice clean claws afterward. :)
