The profit = getting sued arguement aside I want to say that the final episode better be mind blowing or a lot of fans are going to be pissed. First there was a sold month of not a single update letting anyone know what is going on, then the one saying the epidose was coming in Dec and it is the end of Jan now. I know it takes time to do all this but you should have let people know ahead of time that the series was not done and there might be a long wait between episodes.

I understand that you have an opportunity to turn this into some money for you, I'm very happy for you as well. I also have been involved in making independent movies, so I know how hard it can be... But for all the time I have waited, I'm starting to become very uninterested. I'm not ready to unsubscribe yet, But I've pretty much given up on ever seeing this last episode.

@coolsnape Dude the footage was shoot months ago, There is no set up anymore. They shot for I think 6 days and had it all in the can then started the post work.
@xXDiggsXx How's that? These people should be able to make money for their efforts. The ammount of effort and creativity they pour into this series deserves to be rewarded, and without support they can't be expected to produce as much material as quickly.

Right now,. Bethesda owns all the rights on Fallout. I wouldn't be surprised if they sign a contract with them. After all, Bethesda already took notice of their videos, and shared them with their fans on Facebook. I highly doubt that anyone will sue them. Besides, these guys are not stupid to risk a lawsuit.

Composing an original score takes *time* - Special effects (and there's plenty of those) take *time* - if we rushed it out, you'd be disappointed that we didn't do our best. This episode is our most complicated and effects heavy to date. We're just trying to churn out the best possible product we can for you guys and do Fallout the justice it deserves.
Its been so long Id forgotten about it. sorry but I think you will have lost followers being as it is over a MONTH late, yeh sure it will be a great finale and all but deadlines are deadlines and fans expect more from you guys. appreciate the update but Im not sure it will be a good enough apology for some.
I'm not gonna fault them for signing up with someone (well... ok I might depending on who it is and what kind of BS we have to go through to watch...) but it is pretty frustrating to wait all this time for the last episode. If we were waiting for a second series then I don't think there would be half the complaints there are. But we're still going to have to do that after this episode finally gets released so it feels sort of... excessive.
um... I'm getting a little unhappy here. If this moves from Youtube to some sponsored exclusive site, I'll just stop. I'm not saying sponsoring is bad, or that you're selling out, but if it leaves the place where it started I'm out. Like, Indy mogul out.
I refused to comment on the Machinima stikes again postings a few months back but well that seems to be the case. You guys have done a great job and I don't think anyone can fault you on signing on with a larger entity but wish whatever legal/contract issues that exist will get settled so we can enjoy another episode. I know we all hope this works out for what looks to be a great and talented team.
Everyone should stop having a go at them for wanting to make money doing what they love!! If they can make money then they could maybe make another series with a bigger budget!!
@cerberusbrig Yes, money for them so they can pay the people involved who would otherwise be volunteering their time for free. They made it clear at the start that was the primary reason for donations to begin with, to pay the people who not only did the filming, but the costume design, the CG, food, water, transportation, film licenses, etc. It's not for profit, it's so they can actually continue doing what they're doing for us. No money=no means of finishing Nuka Break.
@KeizerXilian Actually the original idea that I donated to said they would take the moeny they made and make a finished product. Now after 3 months waiting on the damn final episode we find out they were holding the episode we paid for so they can make more money? How about they give us what we paid for and let this secret group pay for the next season.
@KeizerXilian they raised nearly $28,000 and they were looking for $20,000. they should have had plenty of money to pay people and do everything that they wanted to do. and i'm guessing they over compensated themselves asking for $20k only expecting to get between $15-$18k
@n03de well its the same thing that happened with "the guild" all of their production was payed for by viewer donations but when they got sponsored by sprint they were able to create episodes way more frequently

@DrAnarchy No it does not. It is based off of WoW but the game they play is different. I saw a video with Felica Day and she said she does play WoW and the took the idea from that game but they never call it WoW and there is no direct connection to it. Kind if like the old Tom Hanks movie Mazes and Monsters was about kids playing a game like Dungeons and Dragons.

@EmoNekoChan Well for one they sort of suck the life out of any good project. The only way to become popular is to either have some sort of talk/hosted show or CoD Commentaries. Im pretty sure they also keep some of the revenue from ads for them selves. Also most of the guys there are so big headed and think they are jesus just because they play CoD and get money for it.

@8L0NDI3 Yeah Youtube take a cut, then machinima takes an additional cut, where as if WC uploaded directly to their channel, and did decide to get revenue they would only get cut by youtube and not machinima.
What you and alot of other people don't know is that Youtube has different contracts with different channels. For all we know, Machinima could make twice as much per view than WC. If they take 50%, WC still makes the same amount of money per view, but increases the number of views (and gets more money in the end). On top of that, they get exposure, which means more viewers on this channel.
@8L0NDI3 Oh i know that they have different contracts. I Do also know that the typical machinima rate is something like a penny for every thousand views or something to very similar to that. Machinima WAS (keyword Was) all about the user created content that was centered around games, now its about money. They upload movie trailers like harry potter or Hangover just because they can and will get a few extra bucks out of it. Wayside is better off without machinima, besides they announced its IGN
Bethesda won't hesitate to sue them if they're making money off of their license, no matter how much they've said they support the series. If they've decided to start earning money off of Nuka Break, I hope they've considered this factor because you can't just hide behind the "fan creation" label if you're actively profiting and aren't just relying on donations to keep you going.
@wisewolfbane Well Obsidian have already voiced support, Chris Avellone and Tim Cain were in an interview with them, AND they even included the "Nuka Breaker" in GRA as a tribute to the series. It's not as if they have no recognition ;P
@PlumagedPower Machinema is a YouTube channel that uploads gaming oriented content. They upload less known people's video content for them to give it more exposure that it likely wouldn't get otherwise.
Bethesda&Obsidian already supported Nuka Brake series on their fan groups throughout the web , and WaysideCreations videos are already well known among all Fallout fans.
never heard of this machinima site until now and I'm confused does it mean they won't be uploading on youtube? or just machinima channel will be uploading? if its on any other site i won't bother with it anymore since the reason i use youtube is i can download the videos to watch offline since it takes my crappy internet hours to bufffer a decent length video. and I certainly hope there not expecting people to pay to watch or what have you? i mean its good but its not money out of pocket good.

We're lucky they even keep us (the fans) updated on what is happening. They don't have to even upload videos like these, but they do. Why don't you try to make your own fan base series on a low budget and we'll see how well it turns out.
@MadWizard321 Well I DID donate and I want to see the last episode. As for them losing their fan base thats just what has been happening. Each episode they put out have fewer abd fewer initial views. Any video can get views over time but its the first couple of weeks that the fans are watching. As for being lucky they keep us updated they do a crappy job of that and since they took money from people to create a product they better update or next time no one will care what they do

The reason why this COULD probably be taking so long is because of legal issues and Wayside could be in talks with Bethesda... Guys, guys, guys. An online venue just wants to host the episode for the first 24 hours it's online. That being said, this episode is GIGANTIC. Composing an original score takes *time* - Special effects (and there's plenty of those) take *time* - if we rushed it out, you'd be disappointed that we didn't do our best. This episode is our most complicated and effects heavy to date. We're just trying to churn out the best possible product we can for you guys and do Fallout the justice it deserves.

I'm not gonna fault them for signing up with someone (well... ok I might depending on who it is and what kind of BS we have to go through to watch...) but it is pretty frustrating to wait all this time for the last episode. If we were waiting for a second series then I don't think there would be half the complaints there are. But we're still going to have to do that after this episode finally gets released so it feels sort of... excessive.

I refused to comment on the Machinima stikes again postings a few months back but well that seems to be the case. You guys have done a great job and I don't think anyone can fault you on signing on with a larger entity but wish whatever legal/contract issues that exist will get settled so we can enjoy another episode. I know we all hope this works out for what looks to be a great and talented team.

@cerberusbrig Yes, money for them so they can pay the people involved who would otherwise be volunteering their time for free. They made it clear at the start that was the primary reason for donations to begin with, to pay the people who not only did the filming, but the costume design, the CG, food, water, transportation, film licenses, etc. It's not for profit, it's so they can actually continue doing what they're doing for us. No money=no means of finishing Nuka Break.

Now after 3 months waiting on the damn final episode we find out they were holding the episode we paid for so they can make more money? How about they give us what we paid for and let this secret group pay for the next season.

@n03de well its the same thing that happened with "the guild" all of their production was payed for by viewer donations but when they got sponsored by sprint they were able to create episodes way more frequently

@DrAnarchy No it does not. It is based off of WoW but the game they play is different. I saw a video with Felica Day and she said she does play WoW and the took the idea from that game but they never call it WoW and there is no direct connection to it. Kind if like the old Tom Hanks movie Mazes and Monsters was about kids playing a game like Dungeons and Dragons.

@EmoNekoChan Well for one they sort of suck the life out of any good project. The only way to become popular is to either have some sort of talk/hosted show or CoD Commentaries. Im pretty sure they also keep some of the revenue from ads for them selves. Also most of the guys there are so big headed and think they are jesus just because they play CoD and get money for it.

@8L0NDI3 Yeah Youtube take a cut, then machinima takes an additional cut, where as if WC uploaded directly to their channel, and did decide to get revenue they would only get cut by youtube and not machinima.

What you and alot of other people don't know is that Youtube has different contracts with different channels. For all we know, Machinima could make twice as much per view than WC. If they take 50%, WC still makes the same amount of money per view, but increases the number of views (and gets more money in the end). On top of that, they get exposure, which means more viewers on this channel.

@8L0NDI3 Oh i know that they have different contracts. I Do also know that the typical machinima rate is something like a penny for every thousand views or something to very similar to that. Machinima WAS (keyword Was) all about the user created content that was centered around games, now its about money. They upload movie trailers like harry potter or Hangover just because they can and will get a few extra bucks out of it. Wayside is better off without machinima, besides they announced its IGN

Bethesda won't hesitate to sue them if they're making money off of their license, no matter how much they've said they support the series. If they've decided to start earning money off of Nuka Break, I hope they've considered this factor because you can't just hide behind the "fan creation" label if you're actively profiting and aren't just relying on donations to keep you going.

never heard of this machinima site until now and I'm confused does it mean they won't be uploading on youtube? or just machinima channel will be uploading? if its on any other site i won't bother with it anymore since the reason i use youtube is i can download the videos to watch offline since it takes my crappy internet hours to bufffer a decent length video. and I certainly hope there not expecting people to pay to watch or what have you? i mean its good but its not money out of pocket good.

@wowcomm1 You didn't donate to them so you have no right to be making demands and telling Wayside that they'll loose their fan base. We're lucky they even keep us (the fans) updated on what is happening. They don't have to even upload videos like these, but they do. Why don't you try to make your own fan base series on a low budget and we'll see how well it turns out.

@MadWizard321 Well I DID donate and I want to see the last episode. As for them losing their fan base thats just what has been happening. Each episode they put out have fewer abd fewer initial views. Any video can get views over time but its the first couple of weeks that the fans are watching. As for being lucky they keep us updated they do a crappy job of that and since they took money from people to create a product they better update or next time no one will care what they do

The reason why this COULD probably be taking so long is because of legal issues and Wayside could be in talks with Bethesda... I wouldn't be surprised if Bethseda was interested in this series now that they own the rights to Fallout.
