what in the hell do any of these threads have to do with this band that is playing. Obviously the only reason that people dislike them is because they are between 15-20 and people that young obviously can't play music. Just because they are supposed to be in high school and you're stuck at your desk job doesn't make them a shitty band. Faced.

The funny thing that also sucks is that metallica is my favorite band, but I never heard hit the lights until recently, so when they were like "All right I want everyone singing this song" i was like I have no idea what this is. I thought they were singing hit the road lol, then when they were done, someone said "who plays that song" and some one else said "Havent you ever heard of metallica?" lol so now I recognise the song immediatley and I wish I could go back to that day and enjoy it.

obviously metallica isn't your favorite band or else you would have hit the lights and knew it was on of the fist songs they made, appeared on the metal massacre compilation, then on the no life till leather demo then a new rewritten demo was on kill em all you would have also known that the first hit the lights was performed by ron mcgovney on bass dave mustaine on guitar hetfield vocals only and lars ulrich

I'm sorry, I was just sharing a story. Its not like I said "I have 3 copies of Kill em All and can sing the words to all of them perfectly, but I never realized there was a first track." Believe me, Metallica is my favorite band, Im just more of a Master of Puppets guy.

it pains me to here metallica fans say that they're metallica fans but only quote enter sandman when asked about songs and this may or may not be directed at you depending on whether its true or not but unfortunately there's to many fans out there like that, which is what music is these days catchy songs to get peoples attention to sell plenty of records but no one knows the artist or the anything else but that one song

It pains me that you feel you have to justify your love for a band by putting down someone else. Who cares that he didn't know about Kill 'Em All, or that Dave Mustaine was in the band before Kirk, etc. etc.

The person likes Metallica's music... you should probably focus on that similarity and talk about that rather than hate on him/her for not knowing how many B-Side compilations they have.

my point is, which you totally missed, is that people listen to bands which are mainstream but don't know anything else about the band before the mainstream success came about (i.e) kirk hammet coming from exodus, how lars and james met) therefore for someone to say thats his/hers favorite band and only know 3 or 4 radio hits is an outcry to the diehard fans who saw metallica in their hayday in 83-89 in local venues and now have to listen to drunk girls singing enter sandman at karaoke bars

So what? You're saying that if someone doesn't know all of Metallica's songs, then they have no right to have them as their favorite band? Sorry man but that's just wrong. All the stuff before Metallica got it's first popular line-up like Exodus and Mustaine are pointless and the majority of MEtallica's fanbase probably doesn't know about it.

Moral of the story: Any fan of Metallica is a friend of mine, unless the like St. Anger.

i resent that, jimzucco. st. anger is awesome. also, don't worry, ofwolfandwhiplash. metallica is my favorite band too and i barely know that song. i personally didn't like kill em all that much (though it was better than most of st. anger). master of puppets will forever be the best metal album ever.

man your just one of those diehard metallica fans which is great. but who really cares if you know everything about the band or band members i personally dont care what they did to become what they are, or how they did it,or who their doing. though i know quite a bit about most of my bands i dont go all paparazzi or stalker like to know everything about them, i wouldnt want everyone to know everything about me?? privacy man! and all in all its fucking music u listen to it. u like it or u don't?

this is exactly the mentality i hate metal and moshing is an all male sport it boils me to see chicks pretending to like hard rock they gayify it let them stick to their hip hop or techno in the clubs i like those girls i hate rocker chicks
