The black cloak is actualy letting you sneak better and give 5 damage of poison/sec, the armor also make you silent.

seamus you should go back to the throat of the world and get the notched pickaxe it is a mincraft reference and its more of a very good collectible but it is at the very peak stuck in a wall not where you found the dragon much more above that seems unclimbable but you can climb it.

The Ebony Mail you have on makes you turn black. It's the poison enchantment that's on it. The enchantment only activates when your in combat, or when sneaking.
