Illegal people are related to this problem because the majority of the Mexicans entering the U.S. illegally are poor indigenous from southern Mexico who often are threatened and abused with this kind of torture, in addition to rape, being pushed off their land, and having their homes and crops destroyed by Mexican soldiers.
