  • Im interested in trying canyoneering. i live in colorado, have been a rock climber for several years, and want to know what you think the best way to start is. through a guided group or with people who do it individually?

  • @icemanjs1213 - Well, you have a couple of options. I would stay away from a "guided" group and focus more on an instructional based arena. We offer courses throughout the year in Arizona, Washington, Southern California, Utah (various locations), Mexico, and the Sierra. You can also google and look for other outfits that teach courses. They are a number of options out of Zion. There is also one company offering courses in Colorado. If you just want to sample the sport, check out meetup.com

  • how do you ascend a canyon to collect your protection when you are finished, if all the rope is disconnected? i cannot figure this out...

  • In the sport of canyoneering, anchors are left behind for the most part at each stance. Traditionally those anchors either fixed or natural will consist of some webbing and a rappel ring .

  • sweet ur funny lol
