I wouldnt judge Ron Pauls performance on the audience applause , its well known that most americans are knee jerking idiots who shoot first and ask question later.
The most important thing here is that Ron Paul is one of the few candidates running who had the foresight to vote against an Invasion of Iraq because he knew it was wrong unlike the rest of idiots hes running against.

Two reasons I think Ron Paul would be a disaster. First, his idea to bring the troops home quickly would leave Iraq a terrible mess. It would permit Al Quaeda to declare victory, and tell our friends that we don't finish what we start. Second, Ron is not a compromiser. Unfortunately, in today's day and age, you have to be to succeed. I like his ideas. I think he's very right on most issues, domestically. But it's not that kind of a world anymore.

If the troops stay in Iraq, the US will be hated more and more every day. The war is already lost (since the invasion). Too many soldiers and civilians have been killed.

By all accounts, the surge seems to be working. The Kurds love us for being there. Many of the other Iraquis are coming around, finally realizing that they are fighting for their own country against the jihadists.
In my view, Romney is the most talented and prepared leader we've had in years. He does his homework. He looks at data. I trust him to make the correct decision in a very complicated world. I like many of Ron Paul's ideas. I just don't think he's on the right page on the war.

Ok, I'm starting to wonder about all this.
Is Ron Paul on to something here? Could terrorism (and even 9-11) actually be a reaction of sorts to our military presence in the Middle East all these years? Kind of reminds me of the movie "Red Dawn," only in reverse, where the "Wolverines" are the jihadists.

Blaming Republicans for the fact that Bin Laden hasn't been found is an ill-conceived point. It's the military that has been looking for him, so if you want to blame someone you have to blame the military but that would be equally lame. Plus, I don't understand how not going into Iraq would have helped find Bin-Laden.

Being an investor I see people make this mistake alot You get caught up in a stock, or a foreign policy, you ignore your losses. You know that the stock is going to turn around, you know it! You put more money in thinking you're buying cheap then months or years later you look up and everything you had is gone, because you wouldn't reexamine your position, your losses.
