  • EXELENT VIDEO DUDE!!

  • Dude best tutorial vid on the net for this song! Learned it to perfection within an hour of getting the chords down! I give you 7 stars out of 5! Great vid man! keep it up! THIS IS THE WAY VIDEO LESSONS ON YOUTUBE SHOULD BE!!!

  • @ftbsltd

    Thank you very much dude.

  • Are you in standard tuning?

  • Awesome ;)

  • sounds better if you ER after an LA and then play the first chord of the third fret

  • thanks bro, the tabs and chords on the bottom kick ass

  • This is fucking amazing , im a big stp fan and scott weilend fan i wish i knew someone who played like this

  • bm5+?!

    what is this sorcery!!!

    i think dm7/a is a beautiful chord too :3

Thanks for the very helpful lessons. i impressed man a friend with this song.

  • @caramelskater was a bit out of it when i wrote that lol.

the last sentence should read "i impressed a friend with this song"

  • #DM7/A makes me confuse

  • Its so beautiful... I love this song and now I'll leran it on my guitar!!!

    Thank you =)

  • nice...thanks for the tabs!

  • Omg that is great u had me singing : ) and remembering good times gifted one ur great:D

  • solid

  • I meant the outro chorus at the end

  • However your chorus is correct and will give you big ups on that cause that was something I couldn't get right .. so thanks for that ...

  • No offense but you are using wrong chords.. they sound close enough to pull off but is in no way the original song ..

  • I tve take it you have tuned down?

  • fantastic

  • very good man , thanks for the chords , bye

  • Awesome! Thanks in advance! :o)

  • WOOOT!

  • i think this is the best youtube guitar teaching method ever. kudos friend.

  • The Best cover!

  • i meant chords.

  • how are you getting that little muffled chica chica sound between chrods?

  • the dm7/a was killing me until I watched this video. I always pressed with four fingers lol

  • This is a good guitar lesson. Try adding a chorus effect to it, cause even if it is acoustic, I would not think it would sound like a twelve string is played if it wasnt an acoustic electric.

  • This is the best plush guitar lesson on here. Easy to understand everything. Great Job.

  • hmm original is actually a full step down but i'm gonna try the cord and see if it works...thx for the vid!

  • on 0:11 is it XX0033 ur playing?

  • awesome bro! thanks a bunch, I heard this acoustic on the radio last night and had to know it.

  • is there any substitute for that D#7M chord? Is the A chord a substitute?

  • @Bob8199

u can play just the 3 bottom strings on the 3rd fret without the strings above...

  • very helpfull really! cant find any easier way to teach this!!!

do some alice in chains videos!!!!!!!!

  • Excelente viejo!!!!

  • i assume you're playing on E flat?

  • very nice!!!

  • That was one of the quickest and best lessons of my life, took me about 9 seconds to learn the bridge i needed to finish learning the song. I wanted to tell you...because I thought the way you ilustrated that passage is the way it SHOULD be done (name the chords so you see which key the notes are in, then tab ) and I dont see others explain passages that way. Nobody else does that. Thanks so much.....very quiuck and helpful..cheers

  • la mayoria de las notas estan mal

  • @stpandtem y eso que? se oye muy bn de todas formas es, una buena versión

  • la mayoria de las notas estan mal, puro chamullo

  • the X's mean the stings are muted or you do not play them

  • thanks, good job

  • JUST GREAT -FROM TRANSYLVANIA

  • that was good

  • sounds gr8! could you show me the rhythm? I'm not good with the right hand...

  • what mean the x in the chords??

  • @vodkazo A string that shouldn't sound

  • Pinky finger barre. Omfg

  • Comment removed

  • What guitar do you play in the video?

  • @PsychoholicSlag69

    It's an APX4 from Yamaha

  • Super awesome this is for you Anabela!

  • I play the verse with barre chords

  • that dm7/a is killin me

  • @van1980

Why? it's so easy... just use ur little finger to press the 3 bottom strings and the index finger for 4th... same as for playing dur chords on 5th string... if u understand what i mean by that :)

  • @van1980 Yeah that is a tough one, I use my pinky and it takes time to build strength. Btw that chord is not a minor 7 its Major 7.

  • @van1980 another version of a similar chord that sounds fine is X65333 pinky ring then index index. Thats a Major 7 shape also. The /A is not needed that much.

  • pretty good

  • awesome! thanks man. probably the easiest song ive learned bc of the great instruction. gotta love the internet.

  • The chord he shows as D#7M/A could instead be played as 365333 for a somewhat fuller sound. Bit of a stretch though.

  • well done brotha. thanks

  • Very nicely done tutorial--thanks so much.

  • nice, keep the tutorials coming, it helps all of us. Well done.

  • I dont usually continue looking at crock shots but I'll let this one pass since your fucking awesome and i bet your penis is too.

  • very nice !!!! I.m just a fan of STP since 1992

thanx a lot my friend from Argentina.................

  • nice graphics, usually folks just put the fretboard up to the camera and tell you what chord it is. nice job.

  • The acoustic version is tuned 1 step down, not a half-step.

  • I hate to say it but some of the chords are way off... the way you play it is harder than written and sounds almost right... it did help me get started on this song and sounds good so thanks.. oh and the acoustic version should be played a full step down to sound like the record.. .

  • what is the fingering for D#7M/A?

  • now do it while singing

  • Excellent tutorial. Thanks

  • Great tutorial for a great song. Thanks man.

If I could make 1 suggestion, it would helpful to have the chords shown at all times. It would save some of us beginners from having to try and rewind back to find them every time we forget them.

    Again man thanks a lot!

  • Great video helped me learn the song properly in a day. rock on

  • would really appreciate if u find the time to do a tutorial for Atlanta

ure an amazing help! u should get payed hehe

  • awesome! thanks a lot !!!!!

  • nice job,thanks.

  • dude.. i finally got most of it ^^ now i just gotta get the picking down LOL

  • Bro I have been trying to find a decent tutorial to this version forever!! You, my good man, ROCK! Keep rockin brother!

  • love the guitars sound, if you ever get the chance, try out an Epiphone they're pretty awesome

  • wow!! Great job!!

  • Thank you so much.

  • thats a really nice tone youve got. are you playing an ovation?

  • why does every guitar cover, no one ever shows there head...

  • Tommy, you Kick Ass

  • Please do more videos, I love that you have the chord structure and tabs with it.

  • WICKED TOTORIAL

  • pure sexyness starts at about 1:34

  • dude this is waaaay wrong

  • why do you have the A and low E strings muted on the last chords when your holding the G note with your thumb? i think it actually ends on the G chord you should fix that

  • Tommy got his six string out of hock, and he makes it talk so tough!

  • espectacular weon la cago. grande maestro!!!

  • whats the tuning

  • Thanks.... =)

  • good version, no dubt. But it is not how it was written

  • really kool playing man, i really enjoy this video, and how long have u been playin

  • This song is so fun to play! And it's pretty easy too.

  • good job

  • Nice, you put the accords wich are not the same that you play. Some positio of the music is totaly different that you play, just correct some and will be perfect.

  • Do you have the actual tab in an electronic copy or can you point me to the website/ source you got it from.

  • Excellent tutorial! Thanks for the vid.

  • perfect tutorial. thank you!

  • These are how all guitar lessons should be!... Cutting all the bullshit dialogue and getting straight to the point. Good job man!

  • Very very good- thanks so much.

  • you rock

  • you rock!

  • so clean

  • if you wana play half the song plush is a 4 min song

  • @SuperLbecker thats all the chordes in the order of the song smart one, it repeats thats what songs do.

  • if you wana play half the song plush is a 4 min song

  • You can also learn Patience by GnR which has the same tuning.

  • Great! Thank you.

  • i learned this in about 1 our it was REALLY difficult i think specially the fast part

  • a guitar is like a women in many ways. Hold her in your arms and if she feels right then shes the one for you. Treat her with respect and care and she will play beautiful music. If you leave her strung out she will let you down and if she becomes warped or twisted, you can remove her neck.

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this.

  • Very impressive. The best cover of this song I've seen so far on YouTube.

  • muy buenaaaaaa tio..

  • muy buenaaaaaa tio..

  • look at that package

  • awesome dude...loved it

  • Awesome tutorial my friend.

but one minor mistake, the second chord in the intro/outro is tabbed as X00323 it should be X03232.

im pretty sure that is what you played but it just was put up wrong.

  • damn i wish i were at that level!

    great video

  • Seriously a great fuckin video!

  • great work, your video lesson kicks ass you should market your method. again nice work. i learner it in under 5 mins. thx mcphotolock

  • Comment removed

  • i can see your crotch

  • Yes Tommy, you most certainly do kick ass!

  • awesome, your one of the few people who play STP correctly, the only thing I do different is at D#7M/A, I play at higher fret position, but your way is better and less of a finger stretch, thanks!

  • Tommy, you do kick ass!

  • You are amazing! I an trying to learn this song..

  • nice job. thank you for the instruction. Just a comment on you and all the other headless guitarists... i appreciate the anonymity. I relate to it as pure love and appreciation for the instrument.

  • GreaT job!

  • Gracias! Buenisimo

  • Comment removed

  • wow bro you play really cool...thank you so much!!!

  • could you make one of these for Creep by Radiohead?

  • Actually the real tuning for this song is D A F C G D. Maybe not for your version but for the the STP Acoustic Version. No Offence, I thought your tutorial was excellent!

  • ive been looking/trying to find 1 specific chord in this song and have looked in a bunch of tabs and it didn't sound right. Thanks to your video i now have it!! props!

  • Great job, im just not skilled enough to play it, any advice on cheats?

  • you are fucking awesome.

  • you play the guitar very well man.... awesome tutorial

    thanks ... greetings from mexico

  • Awesome tutorial, thanks :)

  • to me it kind of sounds out of tune but maybe thats just me... stp is epic in concert

  • you, whats the tuning for this song???????

  • @palpalboys Just like the video says: "Tune your guitar a half step down" So it's Eb

  • @tommykicksass plush isnt a half step down so idno what your trying to do here...

  • @palpalboys are you blinnnnd?

  • what is the tuning????

  • Nice. Although the second chord in the verse is F# over D and the first chord in the chorus is G not D. The way my band plays it and STP acoustic on MTV in the 90's which is how I learned it. Cheers

  • its not tuned to Eb, its standards tuning

  • tommy... you really kick ass!!!

  • D#7M/A i cant do with my pinky

  • Outstanding tutorial -- thanks a lot.

  • You sound great. I was wondering what type of acoustic guitar are you playing and what is the difference between a cutaway and a non cutaway. I'm planning to buy my first acoustic guitar. Thanks

  • @Mistykal2000 A cutaway lets you get to the higher frets more easilya

  • @Mistykal2000 If you want to play with adlibs and solos, cutaway acoustic guitars are suited for you. but if you will do the basic chords and power chords, the standard guitar will be fine. if you are a beginner, try for the spanish guitar with nylon strings so you won't hurt your fingers. if you have experience playing the guitar, either steel stringed or nylon stringed guitars will be fine. but i still go for the steel string.

  • Thanks so much! Your format of listing the 320033 style is the best on youtube. I am a brand new to guitar. My advice to anyone new...follow this method.. put on paper VERTICAL FLOW. I was playing all these chords up to the appregiation of the notes (which I will learn next) . Al lthis in 10 minutes of repeat! THANKS SO MUCH!

Just one thing...could you outline the strum pattern in some manner too?

  • yeah this was well done

  • thanks ...this is the easiest video to follow....

  • Excellent vid!

  • thanks for the crotch shot

  • dude that was awesome...pls keep doing covers.

  • Only two points: If you watch Dean DeLeo play this on VH1 Headbangers Ball acoustic version, he plays the D#7m/a in the second position, not the first. Also, DeLeo plays the C chord in the first position with an open low E string as the bottom note, not a barre chord. Lastly, in acoustic versions, DeLeo does not pick the chorus, he strums the full chords, especially hitting the high E.

    See watch?v=gnSxtv5BnZo

    Otherwise you correct.

  • @StreetFighter2010

    Those are three points...
