  • i was there, wicked crash it was!

  • Das ist nicht gut.

    German ftw :D

  • wow bad for dario.

  • Man, I don't think Franchitti trained to be a Pilot:). He was a lucky in the fact that no one speared him as he was falling back down onto the track. Glad he won this years Indy 500 race, it certainly makes up for this incident:).

  • No, this race wasn't rain delayed. That was the year before and I remember it being something like a four hour delay. But 2006 was a very safe race - no crashes at all.

  • wasn't that his second time that year?

  • That was the first one!

  • o ya. second 1 was after the race ended wudint it?

  • Damn... talk about air time!

  • Ein Horror crash!!! :) That was insane... You should check out Stan Fox's crash in 1995 (or 96... not sure of the year, but it was crazy!)

  • He flew!

  • christ he skids along the ground on the roll hoop for some length of time, lucky to get away with that

  • the bathgate boy does it again!

i went to school with mr dario franchitti.

  • Ok, why are you even watching the video if you hate ovals so much? XD

  • ovals suck! - they cant brake, accelrate, or corner in a turn over the limit!

  • You don't know what your talking about. Ovals has its place in racing, and you do have to brake and get the power on right to get out of a corner or your going to get pass, it is more about power than a road circuit but it takes a differenct discipline of racing. Ever heard of Brookland? It was really the first high speed oval sort of speak built in england. Ovals are fast and dangerous I agree, but it does has a place in racing

  • I agree with dalebshelton, but its still completely boring for the spectator. and btw its Brooklands not Brookland.

  • Don't get me wrong, I prefer F1. But I will say, no one wants a piece of Rick Mears on Oval because..He was smooth, he knew how to take the right lines on very very fast ovals. It pisses me off when anyone disses any type of racing, it is all great, its like women, just because you don't like a girl with a big ass doesn't it aint fun to ride. Peace out guys L:)

  • @mallamoozoo WOW that kind of attitude is completely uncalled for! And what do you mean USA at the end? We didn't even invent oval racing!

  • EIN HORROR CRASH EIN HORROR CRASH!

  • he flyed :\

  • GO MARCO

  • You know, it actually makes life easier and more fun if you learn some languages.

  • Where does it say "English only" on youtube??

I dont get what they say either, but does it really matter? :)

  • LMAO typical american.

  • LMAO!.

  • +listen how happy he is, after saying Scott Dixon "ein ganz furchbare unfall, liebe zuschauer!" argh.

  • did he did it in purpose?

  • Probably not, but it's tottaly Wheldons fault.

  • Franchitti is a good man. And a gentleman. Also a good driver.

  • oh! ok. thank you.

  • ohh ok .. thank you

  • top notch crash this gd job these cars r well built

  • Yeah, but if Franchitti's and Dixon's helmets would've hit each other or something both would have died likely. But that's the thing about open wheel racing. You can make the cockpits really safe but if you somehow get hit in the head in high speed the helmet likely won't help you.

  • Cars that flip over at the slighest touch or when they run over tiny bits of debris. Yeah, idiot.

  • yep, this is because IRL cars and ChampCars are still using high ammount of negative downforce (ground effect). Low cars are banned from F1 in the mid 90's, to avoid accidents like this. BTW F1 cars never go over 350 km/h, but these IRL cars are running at 370-380 kmh constantly. Probably this crash is happened at this speed.

  • why there aren´t people??
