Ford sold American workers out by building the Fusion entirely in Mexico, for a lower MSRP but poor quality. Shame on you Ford! Buy AMERICAN and boycott the Fusion!
What are you talking about I know the Fusion is made in Mexico but the quality is one of the best in the class...... compare it to a G6 that car is horrible.
yes this is true. The mexicans are much better than the Union pukes in Chicago and Detroit 9and even Canada) at putting things together. Why should Ford pay for Union slop when their customers no longer put up with it?
People always like to blame the American Car Companies claiming their cars aren't reliable if people werent so lazy and changed their oil and inflated their tires and tuned up every spring they could get to 200k no prob.
Hmmm, interesting, I maintain my '97 Ford Explorer regularly, and it's as good as a scrap metal now. With air gasket being defective, coolant leaking, brake line rusting, spark plug in need of replacement, etc. The car hasn't even gone more than 140k miles. I've also driven a '98 Ford Taurus, done periodic maintenance like any responsible driver would, but we ended up trading it in because it is impractical in the snow. So, don't say I didn't try. I'm going with imports.
I guess someone failed to explain to you that maintainence is more than just changing fluid. Leaking coolant, a rusting brake line and a bad spark plug is hardly a reason to scrap a vehicle. Spark plugs do need to be replaced. They're not good for the life of the vehicle. Gaskets wear out too - no matter what brand it is. Good luck on your journey to find the perfect, unwearable, unbreakable vehicle.

american car companies need to upgrade ASAP, this is why the economy is down, no 1 wants to buy american becuase they arent as reliable as asian or european brands
homeboy, you fail because ford has the same reliblty as honda and toyota and 2nd of all european cars arent relible. and ford and gm are getting major upgrades.
Well said, my Chevy Malibu is 11 years old and has over 195,000 miles and runs perfectly fine. As far as major mechanical problems, I've only ever had one, being my head gasket. Even then the car ran fine, it just leaked a little until I got it fixed...just think, the car was built when American companies were supposedly building "bad cars." Well for a bad car, my Chevy seems pretty reliable. Just goes to show you that the whole claim about Ford, GM, and Chrysler is nothing more than a myth.
Video was too short, and mainly referenced the interior of the car. At a minimum, the video should ALWAYS include a ride in the V6 (high end version,) with a short analysis of peformance and handling. Information should always include acceleration of this car from 0-60 as well as quarter mile time. In addition, the 4 cylinder should be referred to in comparison to the V6.
Why does Ford only try to compete with Toyota? A Ford customer would never buy a Toyota anyway.
Ford like all American auto manufacturers also needs to improve its reputation for reliability and increase the status level of its cars to increase marketshare.
If Ford was smart they would make a Fusion that would go for $17K and compete with the BMW 3 series, be reliable, stylish, and fun to drive. Now that would be genius.
American companies face a unique problem -- their bad rep has carried over from a generation of people that actually drove American cars to a new generation that don't and probably never will drive or buy American. What most people don't realize is that reliability and quality is on par with Toyota and Honda.
Also they had no competition, so developed a "greedy" attitude. Now they shot themselves in the foot. They have to change their attitude and get some "new generation" management in there with new ideas who understand today's generation of course.
Also what they should push for is to try to make people realize that they are ABLE to build a car that tops a japanese car, but for much less money in price, and most of all service. But for so long they built shit and now have to come with smething good and affordable. I had VW and now have a fusion. Much cheaper to buy and to maintain. Imports are a MYTH.
What the hell is this guy talking about? Even after the redesign of the chevy malibu its still cheap overall, that's why car mags like motor trend and car and driver rank it either dead last or near dead last with when compared to its competition. Has anyone sat in the back of those new malibu's? It really does feel like you are sitting on a park bench. God help you if you have to sit back their for more then 10 minutes.
nice car i love cars but i hate when people say that american cars suck i have a 2000 chevy camaro with over 160,000 miles on it and it still runs great and its stock getting close to 10 years old
You better have a good wallet. They';re fucking expensive on parts and service. Every car needs brakes, shocks and the usual "stuff" you do on every vehicle. They all wear and tear, so it's a waste of money.
are u an idiot...i have had a fusion for 2 years nothing is broken everything is fine...and its a much more comfortable and better car than my wife's Camry
wait another year thats when your waterpump and cooling system will start breaking down, toyotas run 4-eva, dont be dissin toyota, wayyyyy better than ford bro
it seems that a lot of american people dislike fords, for their quality and so on.
I wonder why, here in europe Ford is actually a respected brand with fairly good quality products, perhaps the problem is that european Ford and the american Ford are two completely different companies.
Your are right, they both are part of Ford Motor Company, but the european and american branch both have separate management teams, separate design teams, separate research and development teams and so on. This makes the european and american Ford totally different, they hardly use the same technology share no chassis or whatsoever.
Look at the focus in europe and the focus of america (the older model) one is crap and one is good. It seems like the european branche is a competitive and NA not.
I would avoid buying a Ford if at all possible. My family had an '89 Taurus and we currently have two '95 Taurus's. The 89 needed to have its tranny replaced, twice. The 95 GL also needed to have its tranny replaced. And the 95 SHO has to be driven carefully b/c the tranny is showing signs that it will break down on u. Rebuit tranny, installed, aproaches $2000.
First, the cars had/have automatic transmissions, so we werent/arent shifting them directly. Second, the 95 GL we bought new and it has been driven most of its life by a light-footed 50-something year old woman to work and to church. It eventually had tranny problems like the other two Tauruss we had.
The funny thing is, the Chevy Celebrity Eurosport wagon we had was treated rough, and it never had a major problem. Inconsistent oil changes and infrequent tranny fluild changes. Because it was a wagon, we would often use it to haul hundreds of pounds of stuff & people around.
I drove it (the Chevy Celebrity Eurosport wagon) into a major city once (3 hrs one-way) to pick up 600 lbs of material. That plus the two people in the car was about 1000 lbs total. Add to that the stop & go traffic of the city during the ride back, and u start to ask yourself why that car didnt have a tranny problem. I got rid of it when it hit about 190,000 miles. It was still working when I got rid of it.
Yes and you will pay significantly more per $/hp than the Fusion, bang for the buck this car is it. If you wanna go for performance, hype or because you have your brain in Jap-overdrive and are simply too closed-minded to look at anything else besides rice-burners go for your Accord.

Also..., it looked like, the gray piece around the steering wheel have been broken(sabatoged) or, something. I know, a brand new car wouldn't have loose parts on it, like that! Also..., that's not even the fully loaded version! Ford been makes very good cars, lately(always if, you ask me)but, this guy gave a very bad interview of this car!
Actually..., they're not! If you do some research..., you'll see that, Ford's quality and, reliablity has improved over the last couple of years! Not to mention...but also, over GM, Toyota, Nissan and, Honda. Check and, see for yourself!
Are you kidding me? I test drove one and on paper it seems like it beats the Fusion on all fronts, feels like a POS though. The driving dynamics in a Sonata are some of the worst I have ever come across (and that's after driving the new Camry!). Yes, on paper the Sonata is better but the feel is for absolute shit.
I just purchased an 08 Fusion 4cyl. I came from an 05 Subaru Legacy GT. The Fusion is easy to drive, its great on gas, and has enough power to zip around town. The Sync technology is awesome. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for an inexpensive, well equipped, fuel effecient alternative to its pricer Japanese rivals. Would definitly recommend the sunroof and fog lamps. Mine came with what Ford calls the "Moon and Tune" package.
dont buy a chrysler----y will b sorry--2.7 v6 motor has a major problem and they knew about it for years and did nothing--call your local mechanic about this motor--
Chrysler has gone to shit since bought out by Mercedes. Now you get a cheap american car with all the horrible quality control and unreliability of a Mercedes.
That's true about M. Benz. Their cars might be the best luxury cars(by the critics)...but, to me..., they seem to be very unreliable vehicles! I'd bet, if you take the GL class on a rough offroad trip..., it'll breakdown on you in a heartbeat!
