yeah I hope people are not as dumb as you are when it comes to this... it could be HELL but it's not worth killing yourself over it, withdrawal is temporary and all can be reversed!
Thanks for the info, but too much at one time! I thank you! I will try to take Vitaman B now so I quit being dizzy I stopped Prozac after 3 yrs but the tapering period was aobut amonth! It sucks im dizzy now but anyways thank yoU!
i tried just stopping catilapram 60mg and some person started getting in my face about something I grabbed him by the throat and punched him in the face . seemed pefectly reasonable at the time . I get really jumpy especially when im trying to get to sleep I take codeine in the day when the sideeffects get to harsh seems to work . good luck to everyone trying to beat deppression and or get off these questionable meds
I wonder...why is she so giddy? I can recall giggling like that...after a blunt. People getting advice on psychiatric medications from YouTube...makes you go hmmm.
I tried to access your website but I was taking to a Website designer page. I'm just wondering what your credentials are, because I can't seem to find them, Sorry!
SNRI=selective serotonin and NORADRENALIN reuptake inhibitor-nothing to do with DOPAMINE!!!Thank god L-Thyrosine works on adrenalin and noradrenalin and NOT on DOPAMINE, which makes the info correct nevertheless.
But you might want to be careful combining SSRI or SNRI with supplements, since they can cause the (deadly) SEROTONIN SYNDROME!
There is a risk of those combinations i still don't have enough data to support or disprove it, But serotonin syndome is possible and is a great risk, So i'd say that those combinations the young lady is talking about are somewhat risky, or at least we have to be very careful as to adding HTP and do it in very low dosage, instead you can eat foods rich with L_Tryptophan like turkey, nuts and full rice while cutting on those pills, adding some meat/milk for the thyrosine
Most people who are naive enough to take these drugs CAN'T have sex because their bodies cease to function or their sex drive is blasted into oblivion.
Tapering down did not help me at all,it was just as if I had stopped cold turkey so this does not work for everyone. Some times you just have to deal with it with nothing and suffer till it goes away. The worse was effexor for me 17 mo. appox. of withdrawl out right head trauma. it has now been 3 year since ive been on anything and once in a while I still get a bit of the soup brain(heavy and burns a little bit, in a liquid) when im waking up for about a couple hours then it is gone.
That's good information. Thank you for posting this video. I am trying to taper down from zoloft. My dr doesn't believe in withdrawals so I am on my own with the tapering process.
your Doctor is an idiot, unfortunatly I had some Dr.s like that myself, which left me with DEPERSONALISATION AND DEREALISATION SYNDROME FOR LIFE!!!!!Very well done by you that you tapper off!PEOPLE DO SPEAK TO YOUR DOCTORS BUT DO NOT TRUST THEM BLINDLY!!!TALK TO PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY HAVE TAKEN THE DRUGS YOUR DOCTOR PRESCRIBES!!!Point is,our dear Doctors just know the meds from what's been published about them (and smtimes not even that),THEY'VE NOT EXPERIENCED IT!!!
It's hard to believe that many antidepressants come with warnings that they may increase depression or suicidal thoughts. This is equivalent to a birth control pill with a warning that it may increase pregnancies.
It's been 6 mths of cutting back and I am on 8 granules a day...(there are about 400 granuals per cap)....and for me it's working fine. Finally able to kick those weird drugs that barely do their job. Any how...I talked with my doctor and he does not have a clue about the withdrawal. Told me just to stop taking them. True.
Good luck to anyone kicking those so-called antidepressants. They say that they are subtle, but for the most part, I think that they are a scam.
Basically I cut down by 25% every 2 weeks until down to about 20% of a 150 mg cap.
Then I just stopped...
3 days later...blammo.....nightmare city...
Totally insane nightmare feelings and I mean BAD....really scarey shit.
I went back on them. Then I read somewhere to do it very, very gradually....to the point where you are taking actual granuals of the cap. I'm down to 8 granuals per day and... cont..
I have heard more horror stories about SSRIs than I have heard good stories. I never took them for more than a week or two because I noticed they were ALL nasty side effects with little to ZERO positive effects. The newer SSNRIs are even worse.
It takes up to 8 weeks to actually feel the benefit of taking SSRIs. Taking it for 2 weeks would not show any postive results in that short of time. But yeah, the side effect I felt was night sweats when I first started taking it. It eventually subsided.
effexor is very toxic shit...and yeah the nightmares you could write very original horror movies from them hey..crazy shit
and yeah ..they are a scam i think too..once i detoxed properly, i coulnt beleive how good i felt.....then i had to work on the Other addictions i picked up while i was on effexor (i dont give a fuck pills)
she mentions vioxx (an nsaid which has absolutely nothing to do with antidepressants) and SSRIs which has nothing to do with B-vitamins)... the point is to not listen to random stupid people on you-tube with advice, rather the psychiatrist who prescribed it and know what is going on.. people make shit up ...people, especially desperate people make shitup to make them happy. enjoy.
SSNI's are selective seratonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, not seratonin and dopamine. L-tyrosine converts to dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine, so that part is ok. =)
Four months tapering off an AD is almost impossible for many! Doctors will say it's alright, but you'll end up on drugs again when the withdrawals hit in 3 weeks (or as long as 6 months).
It might seems easy to get off - but then your brain has to go back to normal. A much, much slower taper is far more kind to the body and is controllable.
this happened to me I got off pills accidentally ( bedridden couldnt refill perscription) and here I am six months later two weeks into taking Abilify. I m not going to continue after today. bad stomach and sleeplessness. I dont want to get used to it like i did with Zoloft for 15 years
hi what you saying sounds true but i read other articles that say avoid serotonin while going through withdrawals, because it will take longer to recover since you are stimulating your nervous system!
Nicotine was the easiest drug to quit because the withdrwal was pure mental and only lasted about 48 hours. I had no stomach problems, sweats or aches and pains. I became an evil person though. I felt demon possesed.
Other drugs such as lithium, opiates and antidepressants ruined my life for months! I felt like a helpless baby.
When I was quitting paxil, I used weed to stop the "shocks" it worked everytime. Also it provoked a lot of internal thoughts pushing me to deal with some issues.
A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. You're going to hurt more people than you help with this advice. You should never take 5-HTP while taking an SSRI. SSRIs decrease the # of serotonin receptors. Add h-HTP to this & you run the risk of serotonin syndrome. The action of these drugs upon the brain is very different from what you present, esp. when withdrawing. I hope people understand that you are speaking from theory, not fact.
Hey, I could really fall in love with you Xx. I'm now tapering off cytrolopram, and I'm eating loads of green veg, green smoothies and fruit, and raw chocolate to make sure my energy doesn't deplete. I'm also eating spirulina and lots of green salad, and I turned vegan recently. I've never felt better. I think I'll be able to kick the anti-depressant easily by suplimenting my diet. Thanks for the advise.
Two more things and I shut up. Two things doctors warn you most about: seizures and psychotic episodes. They are both body's defense mechanisms, like fever, like an inflammation, like diarrhea. ECT is a "controlled" fit. People rarely die of seizures. Withdrawal psychosis goes away, alas in our society they quickly put you in a nut house and pump you full of what you were trying to withdraw from.
Taper one, then the next, spend your whole life tapering, goddamn! Tapers aren't painless at all. A month of intense pain equals a year of less intense pain. I am STRONGLY against all this taper-mania. "You should never quit psych-meds cold turkey" - says who? These same doctors who pushed them on you?
It is true that norepinephrine is the N in SNRI. However these drugs are not to selective in reality. Taking these mind altering drugs is like playing Russian roulette with your brain, emotions and body. Often people take multiple anti-depressants before finding one. The majority of people who start taking them quit and never take them again.
SNRIs increase serotonine and norepinephrine, not dopamine. Most drugs taht raise dopmaine levels are usually meant for parkinsons patients. Unlike the other neurotransmitters, abnormally high dopamine can cause psychological problems including schizophrenia. FYI some research has shown high levels of norepinephrine to be linked to anxiety and panick attacks.
Great video. When I was 15 years old, I got off lithium and trilafon cold turkey by the expedient of running away from a medium security psych group home. After I was returned I went on a food strike for a week. Drinking nothing but water, I practiced Hatha Yoga Sun Salutation, karate kata, and zen meditation every day. I had no negative side effects at all.
I quit several addictions cold turkey successfully with nothing more than a OTC multi vitamin, lots of water and rigourous exercise. Aerobic exercise increases dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine.
The hardest of them all was nicotine withdrawal. I can still feel the mental and emotional pain of it.
i quit prozac cold turkey and man was that the DEVIL.

THIS IS WRONG! You SHOULD NOT take 5HTP when withdrawing from an SSRI. Too much serotonin can cause serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal
