To a man all our American movie critics trashed this film. Only CREEM Magazine's Iman Lababedi got it,that underneath the dark comedy/satire, it shows you "the basic paradigm of Western civilization : while we attemp for some form of real financial equality and fair deal, society has formed us so that we can't, or won't, or shouldn't, pay tthe price of equality." Pretty highfalutin' words, but the fella's got a point. I still think it's one of the best movies of the '80s, way better than E.T.

@oxygene65 erm ahem, it is an official comic strip presents, it was intended as a feature film rather than an episode plus the fact that although they only have cameos the fact that ade, rik, nigel, robbie and keith allen aswell as dawn french are present among others does actually give it its authenticity i think but yup it is actually listed as official by the team

I know its written by Peter Richardson and Pete Richens, but if it was an "official" comic strip release it would of been included in the DVD boxset collection surely ? Supergrass (another full length film) is included. So why not Eat The Rich ?

i just bought this movie on dvd. i hadn't seen it since when it was first released. i loved it then and i really enjoyed watching it now. it is a funny film that makes a point. so many future stars in it.....and of course those rich people getting eaten.
