Anyone know where I can get a good mp3 of this? I was able to get a video and convert to mp3, but not with very good quality. He uses some massive bass in this song, and I would like to accurately transfer that to my ipod.
Also, I just saw That 1 Guy recently and this song is EXACTLY the same every time. It's FUCKING AWESOME, but it's not like he's completely different every time. I can assure you Buckethead plays live shows differently every time. He also plays different songs with incredible variety. Case in point, people were seated with That 1 Guy and almost every stood the entire time when Buckethead played.
i've seen him twice and the contrast between each of his performances was pretty broad. he used a lot of different fills, especially on solea. the first time i saw him he wasn't nearly as good at his instrument as the 2nd time. he had a lot of sweet improv-ed fills. so i'm sorry but you either weren't able to pick up on these or it must have been before he was really good. oh and when i saw the 2 of them, people seemed to favor him OVER bucket. unbelievable, i know. bucket was kinda drawn out
Going to see him at Harmony park this May!!! I cant wait, what a jam artist!!! check out some of my videos from Harmony park. I think you may like Heat box
Uh, no. That 1 Guy is extremely talented, but Buckethead is incredible live. That 1 Guy plays the EXACT same show almost every time. While good, it does get old.
A) your screen name thing contains buckethead so you obviously favor him.
B) that 1 guy only has like 16 songs haha being a one man band is not the easiest thing to do, especially when you handcrafted your own instrument.
C) The handful of buckethead songs i've heard are so long and repetitive that I end up wanting to claw my ears off by the end of them. at least that 1 guy's music is interesting.
LOL! Obviously, I'm a Buckethead fan, but I'm also a HUGE That 1 Guy fan. If you want to talk repetitive, (and all music has some repetitiveness) That 1 Guy is HUGELY repetitive. In fact, his songs without words are nearly the same thing for 5-10 minutes. It just rules, just like Buckethead. You admitted yourself you only have heard a "handful of Buckethead's songs." That is NOT enough to make judgement. I've heard them all and his breadth is incredible. He's also a machine live and melts faces
Hm. I don't know, I guess music is one of those things like politics, religion, and sports that arguing never does anything for. Maybe it isn't enough to make judgement but when I have my friend sending me all his favorites and I'm struggling to get through them I usually assume it's not my taste. Oh well, I have heartburn and I don't feel like discussing this further, goodnight.
I just felt your original statement was unfounded. Unless you know both very well, you can't logically assert Buckethead should open for That 1 Guy. While That 1 Guy is extremely interesting and talented, he lacks the material to put on a lengthy show. Have you seen them live? Until you do, reserve judgement on this matter.
Just saw em play in santa cruz. somehow, the bucket is even faster than he's ever been, and he killed it. that one guy's cool, he has two strings. you can only do so much with that, his sound is a lot of effects, envelope filters especially. take away his pedals and he's got nothing. give the bucket an acoustic guit-fiddle, and he'll make you cry
I'm actually wondering if he can play an upright bass. but even if he can't play an actual instrument, isn't it at least as cool to invent your own? I mean, everyone can master a guitar or a bass if you have a good teacher and are committed. but to create your own instrument, you must have technical knowledge, creativity and the ability to use the instrument in a way that people will like. That1Guy absolutely achieved that, so I think he should receive credit for that accomplishment.
I was front row center at this concert, hahaha. at 00:40 was one of the coolest things i saw him do. the bass was incredible, it literally shook your entire body, organs and jowls. was insane

You know...it seems as if that when he plays this opening song, you can almost feel the different places he's been to, and the stories behind it.

The way they move, and their stature/strange presences are very similar
