a wannabe movie. pretentious and trite. you would have been much more effective by showing the real pakistan, by showing the disenfranchised majority. then you could have made a much more memorable work which could have even helped your citizens and maybe make them proud. this shite about young people partying and getting wasted is not new to other countries and ... nough said.

A movie *DOESN'T* have to portray or be authentic to a culture. That's not what a movie is! And it's sad that people are judging this movie based on that idea. If an American movie shows a redneck town, does that automatically mean all Americans are rednecks? If you need an accurate depiction of anything, read a non-fiction book.
What are people even trying to prove by portraying the "elite modern" class of Pakistan, that is a minority. All they should do is get closer to reality and show what actually happens in Islamabad. Even that doesn't happen on the outside of BeaconHouse Margallah Campus. WTF.

Ok im from India.....and i just read abt this movie's review in Times of India....n i decided to watch its trailer first before downloading it.
I had to admit this wasnt actually what i was expecting at all......its more like a TV series being converted into a movie. I dont wanna hurt my Paki friends.....but the movie dosent look that hard-hiting n appealing to be honest.

Its an indie film people! Stop judging it against classics .. given the lack of representation Pakistan has in media right now .. shouldn't you all just be happy that some of our faces are representing some of our opinions to the world? as opposed to the long stretches of sand, oppressed women, mountain, blasts, and backward shit that is shown on world media everyday about us?!?
Although this movie might represent barely 20% of the Pakistani population, Islamabad is full of such wannabes from the elite class. When you go out and sit in a public place, you cant really tell who's rich and who's not. Everyone is mostly dressed up in the same way with expensive looking gadgets and high fashion clothes. And of course, the fake accents. There are normal people too but most try to be westernized thinking that its cool.

Ummm this movie would be good to watch but I really don't think there are many people like that in Pakistan. And i don't really get the "If you think you know Pakistan, think again". @bygonevexation114 I get what you mean.. But in that sense the trailer is a bit misleading.... its a story, and these kids do find their way to a better place towards the end. And the ban on the movie was for quite a different reason (a bit of colourful language, and of course, 'no one must utter a word against our great current Govt' :p, even if it is in jest)... They're still having a lot of issues, its REALLY hard making a movie like this here, so its not going to be released anytime soon.

Hell, My cousins living abroad are surprised that we speak English, have parties and drink coffee, watch cable and have access to fast internet connections. They have a LOT of misconceptions about daily life for us in Pakistan, and that is what upsets me greatly. They refused to believe that we had an arts culture here!

Although this movie might represent barely 20% of the Pakistani population, Islamabad is full of such wannabes from the elite class. When you go out and sit in a public place, you cant really tell who's rich and who's not. Everyone is mostly dressed up in the same way with expensive looking gadgets and high fashion clothes. And of course, the fake accents. There are normal people too but most try to be westernized thinking that its cool.

And the ban on the movie was for quite a different reason (a bit of colourful language, and of course, 'no one must utter a word against our great current Govt' :p, even if it is in jest)... They're still having a lot of issues, its REALLY hard making a movie like this here, so its not going to be released anytime soon.

Hell, My cousins living abroad are surprised that we speak English, have parties and drink coffee, watch cable and have access to fast internet connections. @saboorawan So what you're saying is, a director who's lived in Islamabad, has a home in Islamabad, and wants to make a movie about Islamabad and the side he's seen, should just NOT make it? Why, because there's other parts of the country too... ?? Go watch movies about other parts of Pakistan then! Karachi and Lahore get EVERYthing, let us Islamabadis enjoy ONE stupid film about our city!
