But Van Halen is still going so thats kinda good. the rock legends like zep and sabbath are at their end. its hard to create what they did when they were young and raw and at their full potential. @MottTheWot You're probably not wrong, Van Halen were prolific in the early days and along with their emergence you also had the changing of the guard with an avalanche of great bands forming during the punk era and as the media at the time called it " a New Wave of music" was born. It was an exciting time, sadly for Zeppelin they were on the outer by 1980, it would have taken an album as good as Physical Graffiti to see them remain at the top in the 80's. Bonham's death saw an end to that.

Robert Plant suffered the most in Zeppelin. Car accident in Greece 75, almost killed him and his family. 77, lost his son to some mysterious ailment. Then in 80 his best friend dies. Most of you noobs don't realise it wasn't all glorious for Plant being in Zeppelin.
Mercifully this abomination doesn't seem to be happening. Imagine Led Zep without Plant. It would be like seeing AC/DC without Angus, Megadeth without Mustaine, Metallica without Hetfield, Van Halen without Eddie, Rush without Geddy, Aerosmith without Joe Perry (oh, yeah, they tried that, that worked well), and "Queen" today is an insult to Queen. Led Zeppelin is my favorite rock band of all time. They have made music history and we all enjoyed their music. But hoping for a reunion is like waiting for the Beatles to get back together. The O2 tribute was it people. Live with it and move on. Besides I would apprecate Jimi Page forming a group and making something "new". If you want to see Led Zeppelin, put on a DVD. If you want to be current watch "It Might Get Loud" DVD featuring Page, Edge, and White.
Robert Plant has lost his upper range which is why he doesn't want to do old Zep tracks like "Immigrant Song", "Whole Lotta Love" or "Stairway". He could still make new Zep music but just not try to hit high notes anymore. The reason he's singing with Alison Krauss is because he doesn't have to sing high notes, SHE sings them. I wouldn't miss him anyway...I think David Coverdale or Chris Robinson would make fine replacements. Disagree if you want, that's just how I feel.
I can easily accept Led Zeppelin with Jason as drummer, but someone else replacing Plant? It won't be LZ, no matter how talented the new singer might be.
I hugely regret not being able to see the 2007 reunion and vowed that if another would come about, I'd certainly go... but I'm not that sure about this. Especially considering Plant is thankfully still with us.

Led Zep died back then, Plant knows that, as he knows it would be a mistake to try and bring the old monster to live from the grave.
It did it's deed, we all are eternally grateful for that, the awesome music and everything it gave us.
The songs are still very much alive though, and free to be played by anyone, including Plant.
Yes I think it's best to leave it there, let's pay our respects and let it rest in peace in all its glory, for amazement of generations to come.

WHAT THE HELL! I'm getting tired of original bands splitting up and using hired hands to SELL their NAME. It's not Led Zeppelin w/o Plant, Page, Jones, it's not Journey w/o Steve Perry, it's not CCR w/o Fogerty, not Foreigner w/o Lou Gramm, it's not WAR without ALL the original surviving members, and the list goes on. I'm sticking with my music on my CD's, records and IPOD, at least I can hear the REAL DEAL.

But when he starts singing Zeppelin songs with this new band instead of his fellow Zeppelin bandmates, clearly knowing that they want to reunite since they keep on pushing for a reunion, that's where I feel disappointed at him. I respect him making new music with other musicians, but if he's going to do Zeppelin songs he might as well get back with the group.

Jimmy Page And Robert Plant Have played many shows and albums together without JOHN PAUL JONES and thats not the Zeps but almost sound like them so how would it be zep without plant? simple the same way it was Black Sabbath without Ozzy Or Dio. Robert Plant suffered the most in Zeppelin. Car accident in Greece 75, almost killed him and his family. 77, lost his son to some mysterious ailment. Then in 80 his best friend dies. Most of you noobs don't realise it wasn't all glorious for Plant being in Zeppelin.

Mercifully this abomination doesn't seem to be happening. Imagine Led Zep without Plant. It would be like seeing AC/DC without Angus, Megadeth without Mustaine, Metallica without Hetfield, Van Halen without Eddie, Rush without Geddy, Aerosmith without Joe Perry (oh, yeah, they tried that, that worked well), and "Queen" today is an insult to Queen. Certain band members all irreplaceable. Of course, this is largely why Plant won't tour without the late great Bonham, and I respect that.

Led Zeppelin is my favorite rock band of all time. They have made music history and we all enjoyed their music. But hoping for a reunion is like waiting for the Beatles to get back together. The O2 tribute was it people. Live with it and move on. Besides I would apprecate Jimi Page forming a group and making something "new". If you want to see Led Zeppelin, put on a DVD. If you want to be current watch "It Might Get Loud" DVD featuring Page, Edge, and White.

Robert Plant has lost his upper range which is why he doesn't want to do old Zep tracks like "Immigrant Song", "Whole Lotta Love" or "Stairway". He could still make new Zep music but just not try to hit high notes anymore. The reason he's singing with Alison Krauss is because he doesn't have to sing high notes, SHE sings them. I wouldn't miss him anyway...I think David Coverdale or Chris Robinson would make fine replacements. Disagree if you want, that's just how I feel.

I can easily accept Led Zeppelin with Jason as drummer, but someone else replacing Plant? It won't be LZ, no matter how talented the new singer might be.
I hugely regret not being able to see the 2007 reunion and vowed that if another would come about, I'd certainly go... but I'm not that sure about this. Especially considering Plant is thankfully still with us.
I'm still hoping Robert will join this tour. For what its worth: Please?
