A legendary, ugly ass, she serpent (Medusa), a bunch of flying, trigger happy balls (Neo Tomos), an airy, floating jelly fish with brains (Gragon), a giant, rolling Rubik's cube (Bins Been), an ugly, floating face that splits apart (Love Face) and Brizard's twin cousin (Cthugha).
A three headed turtle (Trimuller), a wierd ass witch with orbs surrounding her(Paranoia), a furry, flying giant caterpillar (Brizard), a militant army of robots (Neo Dom), Tony the tiger with wings (Mantichora), a mysterious monk with two phony, unshadowed apprentences (Wizard)
and so now i am terribly scared of another alien: The Grinning Man oh god just reading about it on wikipedia scared the SHIT out of me DAMN YOU WIKIPEDIA YOUVE SCARED ME AGAIN!!!
Damn that first song brings back so many memories.I had this on the Amiga and the songs sounded slightly different (very slightly),but that tune hit a memory nerve. Thanks so much for the upload.
Medusa still to this day, creeps me out. the girls face in the beginning, then the monster face. scared me 12 years ago, still scares me now....in a way
Well, folks...one of you got it right regarding CTHUGHA.
That's the name of an (apparently) obscure chartacter in the Cthulhu Mythos created, not by H. P. Lovecraft, but a disciple of his named August Derleth.
Its rather like trying to legitimize fanfiction.
And Lovecraft's name itself could be the origin of LOVE FACE - goofy as THAT is...
I'm telling you, these are weird bosses! a two headed turtle, a queen chess piece, a fire snake, robot BBFs, a flying tony the tiger, 3 wisemen, a scary snake chic, flying balls of doom, a giant sea wasp who likes air, a roulette dice, not so love face & yet another fire snake!!! random. but still thought out.
Hey, that boss Paranoia, that's the Flatwoods Monster. Apparently a large group of people claimed to have seen that thing after some UFO crash or something. Google it, crazy story. Pretty cool that a classic Japanese game would have a creature from American paranormal folk legend. Castlevania is another series that has some creatures like that, they had the Mothman in Portrait of Ruin and Dawn of Sorrow I think. I just realized both of those creature sightings were in West Virginia. Weird.
memories i love this is the first game i ever pwnd in my life back when i was in 3rd grade and i miss the hover board thingy you can get plus i got so many dot life thingys that they didnt even fit lol miss this game T-T good memories
Good work :) I might try the game again sometime. My Space Harri-ing has improved a lot recently :P But damn, the Dark Harrier looks hard! That could be where I slip up.
The captions were hilarious. "His name was WHAT?" Who cares, Love Face was badass!
This game was a cinch to beat; with up to ten lives at your disposal, you really had no excuses. But if anything here could even possibly top the original, it was the bosses. Most of them definitely had that creepiness factor that made them appealing. Well, maybe except for Binzbean; the name was spelled wrong here, and it took all of ONE hit to be destroyed. Thanks for posting!
Yup, they're borthers. And Medusa is their little sister. And "Love Face" is the creepy old man who lived across the street when they were growing up, who they were all terrified of and would always put dog muck through his letterbox...
This brings back some good memories. I used to play this every day after school. 27 now and its one of the few games I really remember as being great.
This brings back some good memories. I used to play this every day after school. 27 now and its one of the few games I really remember as being great.
Only good thing about this game was its soundtrack. I really dig that 'Bins Been' theme - even though I think it originally game from the arcade game of part 1.
@NickstertheHedgehog That's what gives it that scary effect. It's like she and the music seduce you, and when you get real close, she gets ready to rip you apart.
Oh, and it's actually 2 shots, but you barely have enough time to notice that, so... (Also, if you beat it by rapidly pressing the fire buttons, rather than just holding down a button for rapid fire, Bins Been will just die in a small explosion like a regular enemy.)
Still though, this was one of my favourite games when I was still in school. Stage 13 was always my favourite part of the game as well. Ah, but that was a long time ago.
That's creepy. I was thinking to myself, You know what would be a cool last boss? Having to fight yourself. I was thinking thinking before seeing the end boss. ;>
What is the ending of the game anyway. Was it all training?
what in the hell was the storyline for these games!! i was great at them but is all it is just killing all the inhabitants of these tripped out worlds?
i really loved this game when i was a kid too!!!, this was the 1st ever game i actually finished a whole game, everyday playing this game... good job on the bosses too.
plus the bins been boss, you just gotta laugh at that boss haha, 1 shot and it killed haha
Would it be possible to do a fan recoded and enhanced Space Harrier 2 for 32X?

The "Wizard" music was always my favorite tune in the entire game.
Also, the Medusa transformation was, in my opinion, inspired by Raiders of the Lost Ark.

9 - Easy, but I got some "Game Over's" because of that jellyfish...
10 - Whoa! What is that!? I thought it was hard, but I killed it with ONE shot! And it's music is another one of my favorites!
11 - Okay, the boss isn't so hard, but it's name is strange... "Love Face"...
12 - Is it a Brizzard's Twin Brother?!
13 - I have never seen this boss, but it looks really hard...
NickstertheHedgehog 9 months ago
1 - Easy! Just a Turtle with 3 heads...
2 - Flatwoods Monter?! Easy too!
3 - I don't know so many about this boss, but it's easy!
4 - I hate those robots! I ALWAYS get a Game Over at Zero Polis...
5 - That flying tiger was badass, but it's music ("The Stairs to Z") is one of my favorites!
6 - I hate the stage, but the boss isn't so hard.
7 - AGH! MEDUSA SCARES ME! But "her" music ("Perspective") is another one of my favorites.
8 - Those "balls" were better when they were "alone"...

A few things:
1) You can take out Mantichora's wings as he flies onto the scene for the first time. You don't have to wait.
2) Wizard changes his position on every transformation. You can kill him straightaway if you are lined up with him on the final transformation.
3) You can kill 3 - 4 Neo Tomos before they fire anything that will kill you from the position you were in.
4) You don't have to predodge Love Face. When he splits, go diagonal in any direction to dodge.
reivenlocke 1 year ago
5) You passed up free hits on Dark Harrier when he does his flame charge. He always returns to bottom center and you can plug him when that happens.
