  • There sure are some ignorant comments from morons that don't race!

iheardarukus...you are one of the biggest one!

A safety crew doesn't NOT roll up when the damn car is STILL MOVING WITH A STUCK THROTTLE! This was a MAG car, so killing the power would do NOTHING.

  • why in the hell didnt he turn car of? and where is the shitty safety team?

  • @bitchviking he was unconicous

  • Jake6802 You are a dipshit in you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground

  • that car was a relic anyway! Backyard built crap!!

  • What happened here is Eric Peterson uses a drug called Epinepherall for alertness . Acute side effect is loss of consciousness .

  • Oh his car is more than 1500hp it procharger F3 and big block

  • actually i know Eric Peterson.. he was knock out when hitting wall. and his Throttle cable was Stuck at Wide open throttle.. that why it keep spinning

  • Lost the race but definitely won the Burnout comp.

  • i bet he was pass out with his foot on the gas.....

  • Thats gotta be scary

  • Looks to me like that throttle got stuck before he hit the first wall. Usually drag racers let up a lil when they start to fishtail, to gain back control.

  • Always thank GOD that he is ok Always be safe like he did that even shook me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @c1972vega God didn't do shit.

  • Badass motherfucker. he crashes and then does a really long burnout just to make the crowd happy, what a guy.

  • @ryswe really?? lol funny shit.

  • that crash was as scary as to awesome the burnout was.

  • I wonder if it fucked the track sitting in one spot for so long

  • scary stuff, hope the driver was okay.

  • That was brutal to watch knowing someone was in the car ovisally not consious. My father in law had some scary runs this year at the National/Divisional race. He said there was some bad crashes this was probably one of them my father in law has a few videos on here of his runs and they are nail bighting

  • did tht person wanted to die

  • -

Not bad but this clip needs some beach scenes of hot women running in bikinis in slow motion. Maybe some hot twins in Daisy Dukes on a trampoline. Oh, yeah umm, hope driver was ok. I think I have to say something like that here.

  • The design of the car is retarded. You can't give a car that much power yet drive it with shitty thin little wheels and almost no design elements to create down-force. The car started to lose traction the moment he put his foot down. Whoever designed this has more money than sense...

  • @sbowesuk you know nothing about small tire radial racing. just don't comment anymore on a subject where there are people with vast more knowledge here than you

  • @mrhazel It's simple physics brah, so you can stick your "small tire radial racing" bible up your ass. Oh and you're telling me not to comment? Heh, I'll comment all day long sunshine. Don't like that? Go fuck your cousin you jumped up little faggot.

  • @sbowesuk you are a fucking moron. simple physics?! these cars have gone over 200 without a scratch asshat. yeah and don't comment anymore. save the assfucking comment for the imbred hillbilles bitch boy.

  • YOU ALL SOUND LIKE DUMBFUCKS!!! WHAT IS HE JUST SUPPOSED TO WAIT UNTIL THE ENGINE EXPLODES!! MY UNCLE TIM WORKS ON A SAFETY CREW AND HE PRETTY MUCH KNOWS WHAT HE SIGNED UP FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE!! YOU SAVE LIVES ASK QUESTIONS LATER!!! GET YOUR FACTS YOU NO DICK MASTURBATING KEYBOARD WARRIORS!!! THIS SHIT IS BANANAS!!!! B.. A.. N.. A.. N.. A ..S !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bigdant363 Strong use of CAPS there sir.

  • fire the safety team.. what if he was burning that whole time?

  • show off

  • ohhh shit

  • Now that's a burnout if i've ever seen one

  • That's what I call a dedicated burnout.

  • Why didn't he take his foot off the pedal after the crash?

  • Must have built a great motor to take that.

  • He did a great job of warming up the tires.

  • best burnout EVER..

  • Just wondering, why was the guy still "Gunning it" after the crash? Was he knocked unconscious and his foot was just stuck on the gas? Or did the gas pedal get stuck. Having a hard time understanding that. As far as the medics taking forever, probably because the car was still in motion, so they didn't want to respond to a car that could possibly re-take off and do more damage, killing someone for example.. Glad hes okay mate.

  • @nickcasto2 According to people in attendance, both tires on the car's driver's side were torn off, and the impact ripped the master cylinder from the firewall. The throttle cable was attached to the cylinder, so when the cylinder fell, the throttle controlling a 1,500-plus-horsepower engine got stuck wide open for more than a minute. Worst of all, the initial impact knocked Peterson unconscious, so he wasn't able to do anything to intervene.

  • Że mu się chciało tak gumę palić... ale świr!

  • @ENTERRAPTURE20- surprisingly one of the more coherent comments here.

  • Nickelback sux!

  • That was scary to watch. Glad Eric is alright. Geezus.

  • Glad eric is okay

  • Why did he continue to accelerate?

    I dont understand..

  • @rhyboy1 the throttle jammed on during the first collision with the wall

  • @rhyboy1

to burn the fuel, so the car dont explode :)

  • These early GM cars had a throttle rod from pedal to carb. In 70 GM went to a cable system. The rod type throttle linkage should be banned in drag cars for the reason in a front collisoin engine is shoved to firewall making the rod open the throttle wide open. Driver should have killed the ignition switch after the first hit. That is if he was still awake and could see the switch with all the smoke in the driver compartment. Could have saved the motor. But the rods are gone now 4 sure. OUCH !

  • God damn, I felt like I was watching the Pontiac die a slow and painful death.

  • Burn out champ 2011

  • At first glance I thought he was just pissed off at the tires and decided to just do a badass burnout.

  • That bitch was layin sum rubber

  • One minute and five fucking seconds until ANYONE was at the car? What the holy hell is the safety team for? Masturbating in the truck at the end of the track?

  • @iheardarukus Yeah because it is a good idea to approach a car which has wheels turning at over 120mph that at any moment could decide to take flight and nail you.

  • @Corona142 Did you watch the video? A fucking minute elapses before the safety truck even shows up, then he gets right out and runs over to the car. And yes, it's a brilliant idea, that's what they get paid for, they have suits, gloves helmets.

  • @iheardarukus Yes and for that minute the car has the throttle pinned and wheels moving, you do not approach a car that at any point in time could turn into a flying flame ball. What happens when the fire safety team gets run over by a out of control car. Who goes into save them?

  • @iheardarukus do you want to approach a rogue car? at any second those tires could be exploding and flying at you, or the car turning again and coming straight at you. when the driver is unconcious, and the throttle stuck wide oopen. you never know whats going to happen. THATS why it took them so long. not to long ago the same thing happened but the car came back at the starting line and crashed into her own pit vehicle killing the driver and her own child.

  • @giju6600 I agree with you. You can't put yourself blindly in danger to save someone else. The situation must be assessed before approaching.

  • @iheardarukus safety crew aint worth a quarter

  • @iheardarukus Seriously, you want them to approach a car with the wheels doing 200mph?

  • @iheardarukus The second it shut down they were right there

  • @iheardarukus Would you want to go near a car with the throttle stuck wide open and the only thing holding it in place was the driver's foot on the brake?

  • To those criticizing the safety safari: Take another look at the video. They're already rolling when the car tags the second wall. They tried to approach, but notice how you couldn't see the truck through the smoke (except for the flashing lights?) They couldn't see the car either, and it was doing donuts right before it stopped. They did an excellent job driving where they couldn't see anything. Once they saw what was happening they car was out in 20 seconds.

  • @iheardarukus what a youthful comment

  • @iheardarukus Another clueless moron checking in, Have you ever raced or just a sideline expert. You do not know shit....

  • @iheardarukus I agree with you 100%. I saw the video and then watched it again and timed the rescue crew. Good thing the car wasn't on fire because the driver would have been extra crispy by the time the rescue crew showed up!

  • @iheardarukus normally i would agree but you must see how this situation differs?? WHAT WHERE THE SAFETY CREW SUPPOSED TO DO?? boot i at full speed through a massive thick cloud of smoke without knowing where the car was? whats safe about speeding blind into a cloud of smoke and possibly hitting the very person they're trying to save? THINK

  • Once you drive a classic Pontiac, it's hard to ever stop.

Just kidding. Glad the dude is OK.

  • talk about a firebird

  • Nice burnout! Woo-hoo!

  • Toyota engineering!

  • How do you hit the kill switch when you're unconscious?

  • and thats why you have a kill switch installed

  • to jest zawodnik, palił gumę pomimo okropnego wypatku i pozaru samochodu.

    takich to tylko podziwiac ;)

  • Thats the way I wanna rock n roll! Glad that Eric is okay!

  • Firebird is on fire, why not??

  • A drag car can't over power its brakes, yet all those Toyotas with sticky accelerators could over power theirs.

  • Now that......is what you call a burnout! lol.

  • Did he win?

  • Lucky that shit didn't come flying back up the track. Could have been a lot worse and it's a good thing everyone was able to walk away healthy. Damn shame about the F-Body as it sounded like an absolute beast.

As for the folks saying the track was/is wet, it looks like traction compound on the strip.

  • Burnout of the decade?

  • wow!! lucky dude rite there..happy ending!! \|||/

  • I've seen wrecks, but not where the throttle gets stuck like that (or that bad). Props on the wherewithal to hit the linelock and hold it in place.

  • Wet pavement. IDIOT

  • @ps2freak1012 it looks wet but its not. its really sticky. at the end you can hear someone walking on the track.

  • @xnitronx

    1. The guy was knocked unconscious by the first impact. Stick or not, he wasn't able to get the car out of gear.

    2. No one with drag cars with this much power use manuals because there would be too much precision required to correctly shift a car this fast.

    3. Automatics can handle the power these things put out more reliably than manuals.

  • @SouthshoreVice

    1. Yeah he was knocked out - that sucks big time. Scary stuff!

    2. Yes they do - Lenco, Liberty, G-Force all make Manual trannies for high HP, quick shifting applications. What do you think is in a pro stock racer?

    3. No, I wouldn't say more reliable, just easier to use and more consistant over time. An auto box with a high RPM trans brake is no more reliable than dumping the clutch at 6500+RPM

  • @slypsi

    Huh, learn something new everyday!

  • thumbs up for wet pavement races

  • Looks like the car went WOT long before he hit the wall. As fellow racers our thoughts are with you Erik. See you on the Track soon.

  • The throttle was stuck, he hit the brake and the engine wasn't reving down then hit the wall possible knoking him out. It's every race car drivers nightmare, when you are at the mercy of a car like that things change when it turns on you.

  • Why are they racing on a wet track?? Idiots.

  • @file83 Track isn't wet. Idiot.

  • Well at least the car went down in a "blaze of glory".

  • Now, THAT is a burnout! (Glad is he ok!)

  • don't they have kill switches?

  • @TechnoDrop pretty useless when the driver is unconscious...

  • ahh yes of course after the initial crash keep revving the engine.

    wheres the killswitch?

  • @CannabisSativa713 He may have been knocked out with his foot in it. The kill switch would also be unavailable

  • Until you have actually raced something more than a little POS 16-18 second jap car you have no idea how quickly it can get out of control. I don't see anything here that was due to driver error. Best thing is that the driver is ok and will live to race another day. In the end that is what it is all about period.

  • He did a good job trying to hold it straight! It's crazy when the car gets loose unexpectedly! Sicc ass turnout by the way! Kill that bitch with straight style!

  • przynajmniej dobrze gume spalił (;

  • I kept seeing you idiots need to shut up comments i scrolled through thinking these guys cant be that stupid must be trolling...then i saw there comments....sad world...glad the driver is ok hope he recovers well and keeps racing.

  • sickest burnout ever hahaha

  • Stop calling each other names, you all look really pathetic, thanks, glad Eric is okay, he is a really good driver, and if you don't think so, YOU try to drive a small tire monster.

  • 10.5 class is SCARY!

  • Glad to see no one was hurt, Scary for a few moments

  • Sooooo many idiots on YouTube...

    1) The driver was unconscious. He couldn't really have done much of anything differently considering he was incapacitated completely. Get off of his ass already. He's got brass balls for even sitting in a car with this kind of power, especially on (I assume) 10.5" wide slicks.

    2) A procharged setup doesnt have an opening to shove a hose in. It has a charge pipe that brings air directly from the intercooler. If you don't know what you're talking about, STFU.

  • A hahaha he was like fuck it , cars already fucked up . Let's roast the tires for the fans haha

  • Why doesn't NHRA require a remote kill switch like they do in moster trucks where a track official can shut the car down remotely?

  • @tmoneymr2

he does have a toe switch he kept trying to use but it wasn't working! he also was knocked out when he hit the wall! He is a really good friend, heck he's like my husband's brother! This was the worst wreck I have had to watch, we are greatfull he is with us today! All that SFI safety equiptment he didn't have to buy to run his car WORKED and saved his life!

  • @tmoneymr2

There are usually about 12-15 Monster trucks at an event. At an NHRA event there are double that in each class during qualifying. Not to mention all of the sportsman classes. There's no way to implement that kind of system without spending millions. And then there's no way i'd be convinced that it'd actually function as intended.

  • @tmoneymr2 They do, when the battery is relocated. And I'm sure it was on this car. Just walk behind it and hit the switch, car goes dead. No one wanted to get near the car though.

  • damn that sucks. glad driver is ok. on another note. do you realize motor was wide open for 1 minute 7 secs. well put together motor.

  • so he loses control and crashes.... the car is fked... might as well do a burnout you're going to have to rebuilt/scrape it anyway

  • for any person who has never raced or seen a track can shut their mouths!!! This is a seasoned racer and by no means doesn't know what he's doing or now his car, you people are all idiots to think you could go out and do ANY better. You could go out in this car and it would take your breth away, if not KILL you.

  • gotta love all the tough guys behind a keyboard on youtube.. idiots.

  • Now that, my friends, is what I call a burnout.

  • Now THAT'S a burnout!!!!

  • OK all you Idiots that are calling the driver & medics stupid, pathetic ect. SHUT UP! the throttle stuck when he left the line and he did the best he could to save it. When he hit the wall it knocked him out, ripped the master cylinder off the fire wall (which the throttle cable was clamped to and caused it to stick wide open) and broke off both driver side tires off. so the rest of the wreck was out of control.the cause of the car staying still was the frame sitting in the ground. He did not...

  • wake up till after the video and after the medics started cutting the roof of the car off. I can under stand why it took the medics so long to start their work because there is not very many people that would walk up on a car that puts 1500+ H.P to the back tires and stuck wide open and out of control. And who is going to stick a hose into a pro charger at top speed? Eric is home and OK thank you to all the Medics that helped.

  • @hotrodtripp fake!

  • @sudoGaron I think not,Talk to anyone that was there

  • @Richiehd not the video you retard. check the comment I replied to. lol the video is obviously real.

  • That's a hell of a motor!! To run that long at wot is impressive. To bad its trashed. :-(

  • So glad he is ok.

Love the internet warriors that are telling us what should have been done. Thanks, I think you should tell the pro's directly how to do their jobs and save lives.

  • is him ok ?

  • draggin on a wet track... dumb

  • On the plus side, it's burning the fuel before it can catch fire.

  • @StewMM exactly, I even think that the fuel burns at a higher rate going through the engine at WOT than catching on fire! insane...

  • All the safety crew had to do was shove the fire hose in the intake and let it rip...it would shut the motor down. That is how they kill a runaway fuel motor, shove it in the injector...

  • The safety crew probably couldn't see where they was going, that's why it took so long

  • That is a crazy wreck, glad the driver is OK. It seams like it took forever to get safety on seen, but i understand why they wouldn't want to approach a live car.

  • @nicman2011 comments like that show that you have no understanding of hp and torque. It also shows that you have never driven a car with over 300 hp.

  • Scary

  • @johnschaser lol i was thinking the same thing

  • @jeromeb619 Worst case scenario is a car coming back to the line under power. Which has killed drivers and crew before. Reminiscent of Shelly Howard in her AFD coming back to the line under full power killing her and her son.

  • Pontiac - Hit a wall and they still don't wanna quit. Lesson Learned.

  • @nicman2011 YOU CANT EVEN DRIVE A CAR LIKE THIS I BET AND ERIC HAS BEEN RACING FOR YEARS YOUR THE IDIOT IF YOU HAVE SEEN THE STUFF ERIC HAS DROVE DUDE YOU SET ME OFF IF I SAW YOU IN PERSON AND YOU SAID THAT YOUED BE ON THE GROUND CRYING FOR YOUR MOMMY

  • NOW THATS A FUCKING BURNOUT!

  • i was part of NHRA for 10 years and i think the reason why they dont have a inertia fuel pump cutoff switch is due to alot of these cars launch hard and the hard launch could accidentally activate the cutoff switch. They also trust that the drivers could shut the car off in a accident. In this accident, the driver was KO'ed, so all they could do is just let the car run til it kills itself and get it under control after the runaway is dead

  • knarly burn out/crash

  • @nicman2011 dude he got squirely do you not see that ? Dumbfuck gtfo before you judge people he couldnt save it then he got knocked unconsious wow your veryyy self minded people like you probably shouldnt drive at all think before you judge dumbass

  • damn all i gotta say is that driver is really lucky

  • And of course the comments are full of people calling each other retarded. I love youtube.

  • at least he got first in the burnout competition

  • inertia fuel cutoff switch should be part of the safety equipment since a manual exterior cutoff switch is hard to get at when a car is a "runaway"...

  • @gibthekid Eric was knocked unconscious when he hit the first wall. That's why he didn't hit the shutoff.

  • @smithboy76908 I understand. That is what a "runaway" is...a car with KO'd driver...What I'm saying is that there is a need for an automated inertia fuel pump cutoff switch that automatically turns the fuel pump off when there is a hard impact...production cars have used them for many years...it seems odd that NHRA rules rely on manual kill switches inside and outside of the car...capeche?

  • Is the driver ok?

  • @bigshagmonster yes he is just sore he was back out at the track that night

  • wow...unreal

  • Now THAT is a burnout!

Very spectacular and scary, I'm very glad to read the the driver was OK afterwards. Really shows the value of using all the safety gear you can.

  • Thats the devil right there folks talk about a fucking scary crash!!

  • @DraginDon I saw your old car man, and your right... fucking scary as fuck glad he was ok

  • The car was rebuilt in the last year or so was certified for 6.49 slower had full carbon fiber interior He was in a full firesuit including boots etc the car had halon it had nearly every safety measure you can find. The car was built right and the driver has been racing many many years and knows the car. But when shit happens like the throttle sticking and you hit a wall at 140mph and get KO'd there really isnt much that you can do?

  • Read my earlier posts...He was knocked out. Master cyl was broke off firewall brakes were locked in front.:( He was NOT awake and alert.

  • sooooo...... Did he win the burnout contest bhahahahaha

  • thats what I call a burnout

  • What exactly happened?? Throttle stuck obviously, but was there no way to shut down the ignition or fuel pump? Driver was obviously awake and alert to hold the car in place.

I'm not being critical just wondering so something like this doesn't happen to me.

  • LVMS did an excellent job! they were on the scene in about 1 minute.. I believe the car had JUST shut itself down but either way they risked there own life in attempt to save Eric very commendable in my book!! Good Job guys
