I like the fact that your first thought on making Partner wasn't about promoting yourself but rather recommending other deserving channels. Misguided people think the way to "make it" in showbiz is to use, abuse and con everybody in sight, but they run out of friends real fast, and it's this giving, sharing attitude which helps to build a network that works much better.

I have to tell you Paul, I've followed your channel for about a year and a half now, and I'm shocked that you only have 5,000 subscribers thus far. You seem to have a lot of popularity over several subjects. I know that you just don't look at subscribers when it comes to popularity, but it's still surprising. Wouldn't you agree?

YouTube is the only entity that can get me many subscribers. All they need to do is have my icon on some of the opening sign up page. That and if one of my videos goes viral which I doubt will ever happen. Otherwise I just have to get my subs one at a time like I always have.

I have applied 3 times to become a Partner but every time I applied YouTube emailed me back saying the current level of viewership of my account wasn't enough lol, but i was good for subscribers etc

that was when i had 40-50k video views, but now I have over 104,000 video views and over 1000 Subscribers so when i apply on the 10th October I should get accepted;)

I see alot of Vloggers that become YouTube partners however us Comedians seem to have a higher standard. I have 226 subs, plus one video with over 1 million views and an other with over 10,000 views. the rest average at 300 - 400 but that is because I can not advertise them more because I am not a partner.

Any input on this, or ideas?

You do have a good channel. I wouldn't start over if I were you. Just delete all the videos that you feel might have broken YouTube's rules then re-apply again in about 6 months.

Did you know that 4th street was where George Lucas filmed the cruising scenes for "American Graffiti"...plus on the other end of town George did all the special effects for Star Wars, Indiana Jones and tons of other movies directed by others at Industrial Light and Magic. ILM just moved out of San Rafael and now it's in San Francisco at the Presidio. San Rafael is still where he does all the sound editing.

Yeah, I know all about George Lucas. I knew that he was going to move from SR to SF's Presidio. I guess that already happened then. I used to work for a Temp Agency and they sent me down for three months to his ranch on Lucas Valley Road for a web design assigment. That was pretty interesting.

The new place at SF's Presedio is awesome! He still does all the sound at Skywalker Ranch on Lucas Valley Road (The road was not named after George by the way). My neighbors across the street used to own the ranch it was called The Bull Tail Ranch before they sold it to George and the rest is history. Did you enjoy the experience working at Skywalker?
