I'm guessing he lost all his item because the bug where ya couldn't play chapter 6, so when ya skipped over it ya lost all your hardearned items

I find it a bit of a rehash of Kerrigan from Starcraft, to be honest.

@MrWunderboy actually Kerrigan would be more like Sylvanas in frozen throne cause first she worked for the overmind (Sylvanas worked for Lich King) and then she got out of his grasp and now leads the zerg (sylvanas leads the forsaken)
