Cont: It traveled along side the pali in a zigzag fashion but always back to where it started from. If it was the NM or not I do not know but I do know that I fell asleep that night watching this flame. I know that no human could travel the side of that pali as fast as that light was moving nor up and down with such agility as this flame traveled. Cont: It traveled along side the pali in a zigzag fashion but always back to where it started from. If it was the NM or not I do not know but I do know that I fell asleep that night watching this flame. I know that no human could travel the side of that pali as fast as that light was moving nor up and down with such agility as this flame traveled. I do know this however, I am a kua 'aina and a kanaka maoli and I will always respect and treasure my culture no matter who trys to tear her down!!

Continuation: It couldn't be but 50 yards from Hi'ilawe. One very distinct flame burning. At first I thought that I was imagining things. I rubbed my eyes and took another look. The light was getting brighter and brighter by the second. I instantly thought it was the NM but was not afraid. Could it have been because of my lineage being traced out of Waipi'o? I do not question. However, it did not send a single chill down my spine. I watch this light for about 20 minute or so......

Countinuation: Then I realized that I should go to sleep already so I walked up to the restroom which was about 30 or more yards away. As soon as I got back to my cot I turned off my flashlight and faced Hi'ilawe. Since it was such a clear night with only the stars visable I could only vaguely see the white line coming down the pali which was Hi'ilawe. Then something caugt my eyes towards the left side of the falls. would say that it was midway from the top of the falls.

I use to facilitate cultural awareness groups in Waipi'o Valley on the Big Island. I was awake late on night while all my clients were asleep. I use to sleep in the back of the dorm on the porch cause it would get hot in the middle of the night. Anways, I would say that it was probably between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. when I was laying out on the cot watching a dvd on the portable player.

hehe this is funny. I work for a ghost tour company on Oahu, and we teach and tell stories about night marchers. There are several different types, 2 of them include the warriors/chief/priest marching, and the other is the nights of Po Akua, when the gods themselves march. The difference is the first type has drums, torchlights, the works. They made loud noise to tell people come out and pay respect. The gods only had chanting and white light. Much more deadly. Humble yourself or you die.

Me, along with 6 other people were drinking over at FM's, (its on the way to Kokee), I was looking down into waimea valley and lights (looked like fire, torches?) started to appear 2 @ a time in rows... by the time we saw 12 or so it finally clicked into our dumb, drunk heads. lol

Sorry kaiboy74 but full moons have nothing to do with night marchers! Huaka'i Po (night marchers) usually march on Po Kane or Po Akua (occasionally on Po Ku and Po Lono). and me and my school class went hiking on some place i forgot i think its call The Kings Passage or somthing like that and then (in day light) we saw hundreds of Black Goats with weird eyes and took digital photos of them and then at a hill we saw 3 large black rams! and we did the hawaiin holy and went back an there where no goats and the next day the teacher put the photos on her computer and the goats dident apeere in any of the photos (realy)
