This documentary explains practically nothing about the origins of WWI. It is instead a silly attempt to blame it all on nationalism and attempts at exploitation. The idea that all of Europe was expecting and wanting to fight is totally ludicrous - it acts as though our grandfathers were of another species. It was the single most powerful military force that has ever existed. Our naval policy was to have a navy bigger than the next three largest navies combined.

It wasn't a war US and UK fought over Venezuela but more like a diplomatic crisis. There was a border dispute between Venezuela and British Guiana and America supported Venezuela.
China and Japan fought for influence over Korea. Japan eventually annexed Korea.

Correct me if i'm wrong please but this video states how the Russo-Japanese War was the first time a European country had lost to a non European country. Is that not false as Italy had lost a humiliating defeat at the hands of Ethiopian forces at the Battle of Adwa in 1896?

The narrator also states "in modern history"( referring to the loss of the war to the Japanese) and my History book defines "modern history" to be from 1914 and on. So maybe the narrator means modern history to be from the 1900s. Although You are correct

I love this vid. It reminds me of the encyclopedia (CDs) that came with the first computer I bought. I paid 1,300 for a computer that now can't even play the Age of Empires. most of it is true..except US wininng WW1??? lol.. Countries simply gave up one after the other and had armistices Germany the last tired of fighting.
and yes Versailles Treaty was perhaps too harsh.. but 1/3 of France was destroyed and unrepaired. Perhaps Alsace Lorraine was Germanophone but most people called themselves French and wanted the reunification. As for WW2, I believe a failure not to have a foreign power occupying and watching Germany, the recession etc..
