  • Why the long face?

  • hee, hee i almost bought this record. thank fuck i didn't. although happy memories.

  • He was my neighbour when i lived in scunthorpe . he did some good stuff but wow what a toss?r

  • HA HA HA 24nov67, where the fck are Bow Wow Wow? Sad pathetic excuse for a band fabricated by Malcolm McClaren!

  • More talent than he really had!! Are you joking? The guy is a prolific song writer. Guarantee you've sung along to his tunes. Though agree this was overplayed...

  • I got a free ticket to see him at the Glasgow Apollo when I was about 12. Audience spent the whole shouting for Bang Bang lol

  • Do you think he banged them all after the video shoot finished? Well, that's his story.

    Class!

  • fab memories

  • i alway's remember the time he was interviewing that punk bird annabella lwin of bow wow wow in the eighties and he tried to make her look small but she turned the tables on him and ripped him to fucking pieces calling him an old hippy or something lol, he wasn't so fucking smug after that. wonder whatever became of him? fucking old has been.

  • Great memories

  • yes how time flies lol one minute i was 17 the next i am er um er um shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it dont matter how old i am now ive learnt along the way lol and we did have soem good music back then xxx

  • Blimey! Was I only 9? How time flies! :-)

  • Bruce Forsyth has aged a lot since the eighties. Still, he's funnier now and dances better.

  • Yeah, he does look like a smug git, the sort you'd like to punch on the nose.

  • who is the lucky 50000 listener ?

  • sheer class..unlike the shit music of today

  • ha ha, he really does look like Rob Brydon

  • Dig those white socks!

  • Now we know what Jeremy Paxton got up to before be joined BBC news.

  • funny innit,,u keep wandering thru tunes on utube and come across another tune u like,,just like this one,,im having to keep seeing tunes everywhere i remember from my teens n 20s,,wish i cud travel back in time n relive it all again

  • Could he not be bothered to do a retake when the dustbin lid doesn't come off properly?

  • It is excellent, really takes me back and I like his style, despite what some have said on here!

  • @raven19661 It almost seemed that he was showing us what the 80s would look and sound like, but he didn't make it out of 1979! (In a popularity sense, that is... )

  • what in the hell is this wak shyt lmao all he is doing is talking not singing

  • this takes me back

  • me again love this recored bang bang xxx

  • FIRST RECORD I BOUGHT LOVE IT .BANG BANG

  • great memories

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • Great track loved this record, also Blue Peter's Peter Duncan's sister Gail is the video second on the right!

  • BA minted mate those mistletoe discos ! !! !!!

  • Thumbs up if you think the cutest girl is the one leaning on the other girls shoulder at 0:13?

By the way, it's the same girls as in the "Knocked it off" video. Things must have been biting in the Music Biz in 79.

  • This is to me really is a song about nothing. People like sex, its a fact. I dont think you could put the downfall of the mighty down to who they were shagging. There are few people who've fallen from power as a result of their sex lives. The taboo of sex is a blindfold to what power really is, manipulation. I agree with the smug git comment.

  • @Euadam

You can say the same about David Tennant can't ye?

  • Great song, memories of my youth. But that has to be the cheapest video ever !

  • Who was Johnny Fruin?

  • @BigEricHunt John Fruin was the head of Warner Music in the UK at the time. 100 geek points to me.

  • BANG BANG

  • What an extraordinarily long face he has.

  • BANG BANG

  • ah to be 17 again top tune never bought the record but still know all the words...

  • Anyone living in London in 1979 would remember this song for being (over)played about every 30 minutes on Capital radio! same goes for Olivers army by Elvis Costello and Gerald kenny's New York New York the same year. I like this song, but always though BA Robertson looked a smug Git who thought he had more talent then he really had.

  • @lndac02The Guy was a very good musician and songwriter.

1979 was the last year of truly good english pop tunes.

BA was a very just as good as songwriter as Elvis Costello and Glen Tillbrook (Squeeze).

I always thought he was from london having no ideo he came from Scotland.

See!!! clever disguise of the vocal.

  • @lndac02

"... a smug Git who thought he had more talent then he really had."

    You talkin about Hugh Grant?

    LOL!

  • @lndac02 Ha ha, this is so funny, Capital Radio never changes! Now it's 'Born This Way' by Lady Gaga and Katy Perry's Firework... much prefer this, I'm off into the time machine!

  • @lndac02 Roger Scott's London's Top Ten Countdown, I'd venture - Thumbs up if you remember this!

  • Lol what a funny ,skinny geezer.

  • Even by obscure 80's band standards, this vid is fuckin dreadful lol...top tune though...always loved it lol!!

  • Bet you know all the words i do....

  • august 79 bet theat make you feel old.lol

  • No further proof is needed that the '80s began in 1979! We either had the single or some compilation album with it on.

  • you can tell it's 70's cus the vids are so such ! but great song.

  • YOU CANNOT BEAT THE 70S!!

  • JESUS!!

  • ROCK N ROLL!! TCB!!

  • Super! I love this song!!!

  • shit, is it me or does this vid look, feel and sound so terrrrrribly dated? (and not in a good way) I'm getting old.

  • like me old but wiser.like french wine an gals.

    tj

  • janie mc! Cool find Well done!! Love this song!

  • is that legs & co on the bins?

  • Fantastic find mate, how many BA fans have seen this? Congratulations,

  • Does he look like Rupert Hine's bro or what????

  • It's pretty uncanny. If you told me he was Rupert Hine's slightly cuter younger brother, I'd probably take that statement at face value.

  • Have to disagree I'm afraid.Just going through songs I remember from when I was a kid.We loved this guy and played his songs all the time on an old cassette player -along with other stars from the 70's and 80's aswell !!

But watching this, I find him so damn annoying and the lyrics seem so naff.

  • @sharfrs1 The lyrics are supposed to be naff this is Post-Punk.

All english pop lyrics were odd around this time.

This connection was to the Punk music genre.

  • Great song thanks for sharing it
