More talent than he really had!! Are you joking? The guy is a prolific song writer. Guarantee you've sung along to his tunes. Though agree this was overplayed...
I recently found out Robertson wrote the theme tune 'Hello, Hello' for Swapshop in the very early 1980s. I love this song though I find the video is a touch off-kilter. The idea of female Karate experts banging drums behind what looks like Rob Brydon wasn't the picture in my head when I was listening to it on my dad's record player as a kid, lol.
i alway's remember the time he was interviewing that punk bird annabella lwin of bow wow wow in the eighties and he tried to make her look small but she turned the tables on him and ripped him to fucking pieces calling him an old hippy or something lol, he wasn't so fucking smug after that. wonder whatever became of him? fucking old has been.
yes how time flies lol one minute i was 17 the next i am er um er um shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it dont matter how old i am now ive learnt along the way lol and we did have soem good music back then xxx
funny innit,,u keep wandering thru tunes on utube and come across another tune u like,,just like this one,,im having to keep seeing tunes everywhere i remember from my teens n 20s,,wish i cud travel back in time n relive it all again
@raven19661 It almost seemed that he was showing us what the 80s would look and sound like, but he didn't make it out of 1979! (In a popularity sense, that is... )
This is to me really is a song about nothing. People like sex, its a fact. I dont think you could put the downfall of the mighty down to who they were shagging. There are few people who've fallen from power as a result of their sex lives. The taboo of sex is a blindfold to what power really is, manipulation. I agree with the smug git comment.

@tonymontana1974 HELLO MY LIL' FRIEND....NO IT'S NOT....IT'S THE LEGEND THAT IS BA ROBERTSON....ROB BRYDONS A DICK...DOUBT HE WILL BE REMEMBERED IN 30 ODD YEARS....ROB WHO????? YA DICK!!
Anyone living in London in 1979 would remember this song for being (over)played about every 30 minutes on Capital radio! same goes for Olivers army by Elvis Costello and Gerald kenny's New York New York the same year. I like this song, but always though BA Robertson looked a smug Git who thought he had more talent then he really had.
@lndac02 Ha ha, this is so funny, Capital Radio never changes! Now it's 'Born This Way' by Lady Gaga and Katy Perry's Firework... much prefer this, I'm off into the time machine!
Have to disagree I'm afraid.Just going through songs I remember from when I was a kid.We loved this guy and played his songs all the time on an old cassette player -along with other stars from the 70's and 80's aswell !!
But watching this, I find him so damn annoying and the lyrics seem so naff.

Thumbs up if you think the cutest girl is the one leaning on the other girls shoulder at 0:13?
By the way, it's the same girls as in the "Knocked it off" video. Things must have been biting in the Music Biz in 79.

@lndac02The Guy was a very good musician and songwriter.
1979 was the last year of truly good english pop tunes.
BA was a very just as good as songwriter as Elvis Costello and Glen Tillbrook (Squeeze).
I always thought he was from london having no ideo he came from Scotland.
See!!! clever disguise of the vocal.

@sharfrs1 The lyrics are supposed to be naff this is Post-Punk.
All english pop lyrics were odd around this time.
This connection was to the Punk music genre.
