regardless of what the characters LOOK like, they aren't really intended to be black/latino, they are characters in japan and can be assumed to japanese. I think you can realize that if you watch the series, since there is a scene when the little fat guy (Kai's friend with the 'fro) hits on a drunk girl at a club, only to have her black American boyfriend come up (who speaks english, as opposed to the other character's japanese)

The opening and ending theme are good, and usually I like this kind of thing; gang fights and stuff, like yakuza and yanki (except this is neither, haha), but unfortunately.. this is prolly too ghetto-kei for me. =_=;;;

I see what you mean, but as a black guy I don't really care how black characters are drawn as long as they kick a lot of ass and are respected.

I wish there were more characters like Afro Samurai, Blade and Huey Freeman. Characters like them are way too rare. I'm tired of the "funny" and "hip" black guys.
