@bones2k It was banned EVERYWHERE actually. When TVR actually made this thing, it scared the whimpering shit out of every other car manufacturer in the world. They all joined forces, and petitioned a world wide ban on the car. They were successful, and that is the entire reason this car only saw limited production.

TVR had literally made a world beater... this thing could keep pace with a lot of the F1 cars of the time!

There is one road legal one in England. It was the original prototype which was rebuilt for a guy for an "undisclosed amount". Legend has it that TVR owner Peter Wheeler drove the prototype about 400 yards down the street from the factory before deciding that it was just too dangerous to sell to the public as a road car. A few were made for the track though. The car has to be plugged in for half an hour to heat up the oil before it can be driven, so no good for a quick run to the shops. Awesome

The first time I saw the speed 12 I flashed back to my childhood. It reminded me a a vehicle I saw as a little boy that both terrified me and made me want to shout with joy. That vehicle was the one with the GRX engine from the Speed Racer episode "The World's Fastest Car". You know the one, you had to be sprayed with "V-gas" to be able to drive it because otherwise its raw power would render you unconscious.

what they done with this monster of a car was put 2 tuscan speed 6 4L engines together in a V formation to make a 8.0 V12 with 800 BHP for the only road one and for the race track they had to de-tune the engine from 800bhp to 740 and to do that they made it a 7.7L. its a shame that the factory has closed

2. is a reasonably priced car

3. its good on fuel economy.

Just take the wing mirrors off and put a bit of weight in the back to keep the rear wheels down and the transit will be so fast. I don't think anyone has ever tested it's top speed in this configuration. I've just heard that the honda 50 has taken all the production bike speed records o0ff the hyabusa aswell.

Putting weight in the back definitely does not keep the rear wheels down. I see where you're coming from, but don't forget lateral inertia. More weight in the back mean more oversteer. (during a turn that is). That's why a lot of rear engine cars tend to snap oversteer, once the back swings out it wants to keep going in whatever direction it swung out in.
