Nature or nurture? Quoth the raven, with an itch, no finger, have I, that can scratch. Damn these bugs and ticks and lice, some dirt to roll in would be nice. A pool to drown them would be fun or snow to freeze them every one so I can be free of their taunts, returning to my favorite haunts. To have a bird's brain don't mean squat if you can repeat what you're taught. Natural mimics, we're quite clever, used by poets to quoth "never". Happy to fly free in the sky and have a program wonder why.

Birds are a lot smarter than they get credit for. They are also very emotional. They do not however understand Irony. When a bird says "You look great today!" they are not being sarcastic.

Seriously though- In my opinion Ravens/Magpies/Crows/whatever else you call them are one of the most beautiful birds. I wish I knew someone who had one, I would love to hang out with one.

But what happens when we get overrun by them? Our "place in the world" according to the natural order of things, is a VERY efficient predator. And how did a simple video of birds having fun get to be a discussion on the right vs. wrong of killing animals?

It is amazing to see the way a raven problem solves, for example, the birds that were dropping walnuts into an intersection at a cross walk so cars would run them over, then they would wait on the sidewalk fo rthe light to change, then walk over and get the nut. Ravens are astounding creatures :-3

well tongpu you shouldn't blame all religion for this, I'm a Muslim but I believe that we humans are guardians of the Earth not its rulers! We are supposed to take care of the Earth not use it as an ashtray! It's true the way we slaughter animals is very cruel, but eating meat is part of nature but if we must kill than do it as humanely and painlessly as possible, we should share the Earth,animals are technically part of God's family, and God is good to those who are good to his family.
