Thank you for your comment. We are so happy they are doing so well and have such a nice home. I remember the day Frosty was born at our farm he was like the pet and he knew it.
He got that name because it was very cold and frosty that morning he was born.
This team pulled alot of logs out of the woods and plowed in many contests and Grand Champions to boot.
The camp ground should put a garden in...we would be happy to come down and show you how to plow with these boys.
thank you..they are retired now to a camp ground in NJ where lots of folks can see them and have a wagon ride. We are now training and using the black team Turbo and Jet they are coming along very well. Thank you for subscribing..
Thank you for contacting us and your comment. We have sold them to a camp ground in NJ...they have retired to giving hay rides to hundreds of familys and are living like kings.. it was hard to see them go but stay tuned we have a team of Black percherons we are working now. You will be seeing them on video this year. We are training them now and they have traveled to demonstrations and around people and pulling logs out now... thank you again
Those are some beautiful belgians, you should be proud of your horses. I've recently been working in the woods with some Cheval canadians, and they would never be able to pull as big a log as that. Of course, them being only 15 hands doesn't give them much of an advantage.
Glad to see farmer Brown walking. My late father believed that the team shouldn't have to haul the driver if he were capable of carrying his own weight.
Would it not be of an advantage to build your sulky higher and use a simple cable lift to get the nose of the stick of the ground? Seems to me you would dramatically lighten the load on the team....
@cowpoke1000 Hello thank you for your comment.. When this logging arch moves forward the log does come up off the ground. This does lighten the load..thank you for your comment.
@Rellimju Thank you for your comment..Jim has trained many teams. He also has helped people start their businesses with horses. This team is for sale and may sell soon. He is training a new team now. You will see pictures in the future of his new team.
If you are going to be success full and safe you need to know what can happen before it happens..
We may be coming in a time of the world that we will have to depend on horses and men again..
yes they did get the log. These horses work every day in the woods and they can do it. The skid cart takes much weight off the log. This makes the job much easyer for the team.
Beautiful horses. They seem to be well-matched and hard workers. Nice vid!

Hey dud if you could get the log more on the wheels and less on the ground , you wouldn't put so much strain on your team

So neat. You have worked hard with your horses to train them well. They look so healthy and strong. Horses and men can accomplish a lot.

@TheFarmerbrownw How much would a team like this go for? It's the best way to get trees without damaging the enironment.

Just curious , how much is a log like this worth ?

Watch him back this team around. Not as stirring as the legendary Dick and Charlie, but they work hard for him.
