  • NARF !

  • ....who...are,,,you??

  • Damn it! Why didn't he say anything in the first video about this not working for offset tires?! I love my Supra, but now I have to take it to a shop.

  • If its really messed up its TOE-UP!

  • F-this. It costs about $60 bucks for a professional alignment at most name-brand shops.

  • wouldn't it be best to measure from the rims? In case one tire is worn more than the others???????

  • @fortsmithow technically. but thats unusual, and it would make a very small difference

  • why cant people pour concrete with grade pins anymore? 1/2" out in 5 feet? WTF!!?!?!?

  • when the square tube which is touching the bottom of the rim is exactly vertical, he measures the space between the top of the rim and the tube. This shows the amount of negative camber over the diameter of the rim. This can then be converted into degrees using a calculator.

  • isn't the floor jack unnecessary when you're leveling the floor? i mean, once you found the highest corner, you just have to add tiles until the 3 others corners are at the same level.

  • I couldn't hear him correctly, what exactly are you measuring in 4:30? Can someone please explain it to me.

  • @homeboyx911 ok, so the goal is to measure the angle of the rim compared to the horizontal. since you cant do that directly, you keep the level perfectly horizontal, and keep the bottom of it on the rim. then you measure the distance from the top of the rim to the top of the level.

  • So much for cars with staggered wheels and different offset front and back.

  • yeah people who got the money go for get a job done by a pro, who cares, if i know i could do it then why not after all its my vehicle and i trust my work more than any shop out there

  • i'm soooo doing this if you can't fix your own car you shouldn't have one that's just my opinion, some dudes are capable but chose no to get there hands dirty and that's just gay man up fools

  • Awesome video. I actually just did a string toe alignment a few weeks ago on my '83 Volvo 240 Turbo... The front track is about 3" wider than the rear.

Anyways though, you still CAN measure toe with the string method on a car with different track widths - You just have to account for the difference between F & R track.

For example, on my car, I had to measure 1.5" less from the wheel to the string on each side in the front, compared to the rear. (1.5" on each side = 3" total track difference)

  • Ingenious! We use mad computers ourelves...take a peek on our channel.

  • scribing the tire and using a toe stick would be more accurate

  • Hey retards saying 'just go pay', this video is for people who would like to fine tune their suspension and make frequent adjustments. Or for real men who don't need to pay a mechanic to do a shitty job on their car.

  • @barrygoldwater2008 75% of mechanics out there will fuck up ur car, so yes i will do the job myself with these videos!

  • Great videos I am looking to do my alignment this weekend

  • too much work just pay and get it done

  • If your string and level works so well, why did I just pay $22000.00 for an alignment machine and $20000.00 for a alignment lift?

  • @dberg76 because its a shit load easyer with a mechine

  • @dberg76 Maybe you payed out that much money because the salesman who sold it to you tricked you into believing that these adjustments were highly scientific and complicated. Or maybe because you're bad at using a calculator (and your brain).

  • just set the toe dude, way overthinking this thing out

  • @123rockkeyy you can still scuff from extreme camber even with the toe aligned

  • Comment removed

  • Ruler is a leader of a country and a Rule is a stick that you measure with. Nice video, thanks!

  • thanks for the great video but dang that's a lot of work.. haha

  • Lol i rather go pay

  • @Recoilroler me too. damn!

  • Your Southern Accent makes you sound dumb, but your actually pretty smart. Thanks.

  • awesome

  • or borrow a laser transit

  • LOL, I'd rather just spend the $50 and have the shop do it. If they get it wrong, I can always bring it back for them to recheck it for free.

  • there must be an easier way

  • great video thanks! I like the toe in method

  • well... on average a garage floor is required to be 1/8" per foot slanted away from the house

so if you don't want to do all of the water stuff, that may be helpful for a quick estimate on distance

  • can you imagine if a buddy or a neighbour came over while you were doing this and see's a bucket with water, some tubing and a tape measure and you say your checking your car's alignment?? LOL!

  • because if he jacks up the car and leaves the wheels hanging,,you cannot get accurate measurments of the car with a full suspension load,,the geometry angles are different when the wheels are off the ground..so how will you know how much off your suspension is..you need to find out your measurment on a level ground with full weight on the vehicle..

  • why dont u just jack the whole thing up and leave wheels im the air

  • this guy talks funny but hes a genius

  • yeeehaw

  • 10/16" LOL!

  • @Recklessford lol should be 5/8"

  • I feel really stupid for not understanding what you're measuring at 4:40 but you say you're measuring the distance from the aluminum to the top of the wheel? Isn't the measurement just gonna be the thickness of the piece of aluminum?

  • the wheel will have some neg camber, so the alum block/level will be flush with the bottom lip of the wheel, but the top of the wheel will be leaned in (while the block/level is perfectly vertical) so there will be a gap between them

  • No, He's finding vertical (0 degrees), then, he's measuring how much he COMES OUT from the wheel at the top, while keeping the aluminum against the bottom (camber degrees converted from the measured distance).

  • When you plumb the level, there should be an air gap between the aluminum and the wheel. He's saying to measure the air gap between the aluminum and the wheel, not the aluminum itself.

  • Man you r the best

    Thanx

  • Absolutely awesome job! Not only was I looking for videos of how to do this exact thing, I also have the same blue Evo. Kudos to you, sir!

  • Slick idea - I will continue watching - Has anyone ever said you soud like Jeff Foxworthy?

I mean that in the best way.

  • GIT-R-DONE !

  • Very good job!!!

  • thank you for the great videos.Carried out your procedures and my car is vastly improved. I dont trust alignment shops so your techniques carefully done by me are much appreciated. Thanks again for all your hard work.
