  • Good, I like that you share this video, I wish success always McCain Favors Embryonic Stem Cell Research

  • Nice Video That You Share , So Very Nice Thanks You McCain Favors Embryonic Stem Cell Research

  • I Really Like The Video From Your McCain Favors Embryonic Stem Cell Research

  • Your Video Is Very Useful Sharing McCain Favors Embryonic Stem Cell Research

  • oh i thought there were a video to watch.. i will not comment much there's a war below my comment..

  • Stem cell research using embryos is the most promising area of medical research since we decoded DNA in 1952. It could lead to so many treatments for so many debilitating and chronic illnesses.

  • McCain flipped... AGAIN. See my video response.

  • We got abortion clinics, and we got fertility clinics.....MAKE UP YOUR FUCKIN MINDS PEOPLE!!! I'm starting to think that we do indeed need a NEW WORLD ORDER to control stupid people. We need a BIG BROTHER to slap people around because people are so fuckin stupid it makes me sick.

  • Embrionic Stem Cells DO NOT result in the "death" of anyone. Like the man said, stem cells are going to be THROWN AWAY from the invitrofertilization process. So if you are against embrionic stem cell research, you should not fight that battle, you should fight to make invitrofertilization illegal... and in that case you are the one destroying human life (or at least preventing someone from concieving a child).

  • I think it's ridiculous that there is artificial reproduction. It seems that mankind cannot decide whether the planet is overpopulated or underpopulated. You know, there are people (Dr. Pianka for example) that want to cull the masses with aerosolized ebola virus, and then there's people like you who think we need to make extra, artificial people. LOL! Me, I strike a happy medium. No aerosolized ebola, and no artificial people. COMMON SENSE.

  • First of all, you are the first person I have met who is willing to stand up against invitrofertilization, and I have a lot of respect for you because of that (most people would not admit it). But it seems rather arbitrary to tell people who cannot reproduce naturally that they cannot have children. Perhaps we should just pick half of all male children and have them castrated at birth, that would help the overpopulation problem. I dont think overpopulation is due to invirto, its too expensive

  • Funklab, all I know is, watching the world fall apart for the last 34 years, it's one step forward and two steps back, a steady downward spiral, ever waiting for the inevitable day when the monkey with the nuclear weapon pushes the fuckin button. All the while, naturally conceived babies being murdered as we create artificial mutant people to inherit a polluted wasteland formerly known as Earth.

  • So in your opinion naturally conceived babies are better than those who were conceived in other ways? I think most people would beg to differ. You should feel free to not procreate and save the planet from overpopulation, but I don't think anyone has the right to tell other people who can and who cannot have babies. I'd rather be a "artificial" person inheriting a polluted wasteland, than a "real" person inheriting an authoritarian polluted wasteland.

  • Funklab, now that you compel me to analyze it, I feel that everything is pointless. I honestly think that we will blow ourselves up very soon. And if we don't blow ourselves up, it would only be fitting that the mutants inherit the toxic wasteland. It's perfect, just like out of a science fiction novel. If the shoe fits, wear it? Ok.

  • I would just like to point out that this discussion was about stem cell research, and as a result invitrofertilization, no where did anyone mention anything about mutants. The future is rather bleak, but I believe that there is much good that can be done, and I believe that stem cell research can do some of that good. But we've all got to do what we can.

As Braintax said "I come in peace from a small piece of dark and I'm going back soon, but for now I'll make marks"

  • funklab, I am sorry. If you hang around me too long you will probably commit suicide. I would have committed suicide a long time ago but I fear the wrath of God. So you might say that God is literally the only thing keeping me alive today. I hate people. Trust me, for your own mental health and general well being, stay as far away from me as possible. I will ruin your perception of reality, if given enough time. Every sky will look gray to you, and everyone will be your foe.

  • wow philippe, you need some kind of fun in your life. dont be so depressed.

  • funklab, I will try to improve my outlook.

  • You can argue all you want,,,The bottom line is, in America - at least, we have to contend with the Dickey Amendment.

  • Why do you insist that the human genetic code is "sacred" or "taboo"? It is a chemical process. For that matter -we- are chemical processes. If you deny yourself a useful tool simply because it reminds you uncomfortably of your mortality, you have uselessly and pointlessly crippled yourself.

  • even a broken clock is right twice a day

WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE - FUCK THE GOP

    ┗┫━━ ┃ ━━┣┛ ┣┫ ┃ ━━━━ ┃ ┏┳┫┣┳┓No McCain. ┗━━┳━┳━━┛ ┃ ┃No Palin.

    ━━━━┃ ┃━━━━┗━┳┳━┛No More Assholes.

  • I hope McCain will stay true to this view if he is elected president. We need embryonic stem cell research.

  • i dont know if this video is meant to slam mccain, but i agree on his viewpoint on this. embryos are frozen or discarded daily from in vitro fertilization clinics. they are wasted potential and mccain and im sure most liberals would agree to tap into that.

but if he agrees that conception is when human have rights, then he would've limited practices on IVF clinics instead or better regulation

  • Conception is NOT when humans have rights. They have rights when their brain becomes functional. Who the hell came up with this conception BS?

  • according to your comment then they have rights as early as 3 or 4 weeks when functional nervous tissue forms to make a baby's heart beat.

    go get an education

  • When did I mention a heartbeat? I didn't. When I say "functional," I mean thinking. Conscious. Sentient. Does that happen in 3-4 weeks?

Also, since when does 3-4 weeks = conception? Conception seemed to be your position in your first post. Is every sperm sacred?

I don't argue all that strongly for abortion, and I am against late term abortion, so don't bother debating that with me. But by pulling this conception BS, you seem to be saying that the unborn are more important than the living.

  • some can argue that nervous tissue has to think for you to make your heart beat, breathe, twitch. the autonomics can give "brain waves" or measurable electric activity

as for sentience, one can argue that post 28 weeks the fetus is unaware of anything, thus still having no rights.

if you mean as in react to external stimuli, you can damage a 1 hour old embryo and watch it correct itself.

on my post on conception, it was more to play devil's advocate of mccain's altering stances.

  • relaly, i jus tlike playing devil's advocate. no matter what your position, i'll poke holes into it. so i'll stop

  • Yeah, I understand that the brain has to be active for the heart to work, but when I say thinking, I mean thinking. Conscious. Not just an active brain. Brain waves were the wrong term for me to use.

And I am opposed to any abortion that late.

Yeah, playing devil's advocate is fun. I just like to argue. It's why I replied to your post in the first place.

  • ? when does life begin

McCain: at the moment of conception

? when can embryonic stem cell research begin?

McCain: at the moment of conception

  • These embryo's are being wasted every day/week/month/year...so why not put them to good use?! Everyone talks about protecting the unborn...but the embryos are ALREADY BEING WASTED! So why not protect the unborn THAT ARE GOING TO BE BORN WITH ALZHEIMER'S, PARKINSON'S, DIABETES, OR HAVE SPINAL CHORD INJURIES?!

  • What good could come out of a woman being raped and pregnant and a failed attempt at an abortion...come look at my family.. for I was a botched abortion!

  • It is unfortunate that so many believe it is fine to create embryos and destroy them. And make no mistake about it: the in-vitro fertilization clinics are doing this very thing. They create several embryos, implant the 'healthiest' one, and destroy the rest.

If there is no right to life, there is no right at all.

  • First of all, embryos are transferred not "implanted." Second, of the embryos created to bless infertile women, most, if not transferred, stop growing. The others are frozen for future transfers or donated. In truth, not many are destroyed. IVF is my only option and if I have to have some of my embryos not survive to have a biological child, I will take that chance.

  • actually "implanted" isn't incorrect. yes, you transfer the embryo to the mother-to-be's womb where it then becomes implanted against the uterine wall. if there's no implantation, then as you stated there's no further development. so they transfer multiple embryos and hope at least one implants, but then sometimes you get those septuplet phenomena

  • In very rare cases after the embryos have been transferred back to the uterus, too many for a woman to carry implant and one chooses selective reduction for the safety of the mother. This is rare because usually clinics do not transfer more than the women can safely carry and it is rare for all transferred to implant. The septuplet phenomena does not happen with IVF. That is another assisted reproductive procedure called IUI.

  • crap, you're right about the iui. i has bean edumacated.

  • The fact is, it IS fine. Do those embryos have measurable brainwaves? No? Then they're not alive. They're a clump of cells, nothing more. Definitely not human.

And don't give me that crap about potential life, either. If you're not having unprotected sex 24/7, you're wasting potential life.

Also, how the FUCK are these embryos more important than people alive? How are they more important than all the people in the future who might contract a disease that could be cured with stem cell research?

  • The two previous comments posted are deeply disturbing. First of all, equating an embryo, or even a couple dozen cells grouped together with a full fledged human being is nonsense.

And billybob, of course embryonic stem cell research hasn't yielded any results...because Bush won't allow any federal funding.

Don't be fooled. The promises of 'adult' stem cell research is nothing more than a media hype by the religious organizations opposed to real stem cell research.

  • that guy is so selfish and yes U ARE KILLIN A UNBORN HUMAN.I KNOW U WOULDNT B HAPPY IF UR WIFE ,IF U HAVE 1, WAS PREGNANT AND THEN SUM PERSON TOLD U "WELL THAT FETUS CAN SAVE MY LIFE SO YEA LET ME RID HIM OF HIS LIFE SO I CAN CONTINUE ON WITH MINE."MHM YEA I DIDNT THINK SO!!!IF U ARE FOR EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH U ARE A SELFISH KILLER

  • Nice little audio...However, Embryonic Stem Cell Research hasn't provided the results the researchers have been seeking for in the past 10 years +. Whereas, Adult Stem Cell Research has proven fairly productive. Instead of wasting money in a horse that won't run, put the money and research in a proven area and expand upon it, for those that need it NOW.

  • Embryonic stem cell research has been curbed hugely since 2001, restricted to lines which are contaminated with mouse DNA, making them useless to practical application. Adult stem cells have been researched for over 40 years, yielding all of NINE approved treatments. The comparison is like having a reading contest between a 40-year-old college graduate and a 10-year-old who hasn't been given any books since she turned three.

  • Anac - Well, the only problem with your theory is that, the rest of the world is not bound the The Dickey Amendment...They can and have done whatever they damn well please,,,And still, the only accomplishments they have been able to produce are tumors. This has been and will alswas be about how much money can be made from the ESCR scam.

  • Right. Because of course, the answers will fall into their laps immediately.

  • In actuality it is ANTI-LIFE to NOT support embryonic stem cell research. These embryos are going to be destroyed anyway. It isn't as they were created for research purposes.
