The only thing that they got wrong with this simulation was that the first Celt that got shot with the arrow was a fatass. Celts are supposed to be jacked!
Most people don't know that the Persian Immortals didn't suffer that great of loss against the Spartans in Thermopylae. The Greek historian who wrote of the account was known to exaggerate many things in his stories, making it seem like each Spartan killed 4 quadrillion Persians. Sadly, most of us are taught the baised version in school which leads us to believe that the Spartans were a lot stronger than they actually were.
@martialartsman627 The Spartans were strong, it wasn't 300 vs 1 million like the movie claims, it was about 10,000 vs anywhere upwards of 100,000 (only 300 of those 10,000 were Spartan warriors). The Spartans were some of the most well trained warriors of all time, no exaggeration. The Persians lost nothing at Thermopylae, but the rest Greece gained an overwhelming boost in morale, which is paramount in every war. Dunno how this ties to Celts though.
Biased fight! The Persian was useless on his own and ALWAYS fought in numbers! the Celt fought by himself and he would have been stronger, faster, fitter the Persian on the other hand was weak, not very fast and was hopeless on his own in this sort of situation!!
this is bullshit the celtic is bigger faster smarter and stronger by nature the only warrior that would be a great challenge would be a viking this was bullshit
Celts were stronger than immortals, they defeated the Greeks, several times, entered Anatolia, and made a kingdom there, which despite small lasted for long, amongst supposedly far more advanced kingdoms and Empires.
The Persian Immortal would have never even gotten close to a Celt. The Celt would have beat the living humus out of him and then cut his head off. There's a reason why the Celts kicked Rome's ass for so many centuries.
Of course the Persian won, are you joking? Sure, not the entire Persian army was compromised of elite soldiers, but they damn well had extremely skilled warriors. A skilled Persian warrior against a barbaric Celt? You must be kidding me. The Persians were much more advanced, organized and civilized. Read a history book people, instead of getting pissed that the white guy didn't win because he's prettier.
@wowhamba Civility has nothing to do with being decapitated by a Celtic blade. Also you contradicted yourself rather well in your second sentence. Celts were head hunters, you mean to tell me that they lack skill when it is their hobby to collect human heads? Fact: This whole show is a load of bullshit because no one really knows who would win unless it was a completely biased fight (like a caveman vs SAS situation). In my opinion the Celt would've won, rather easily I may add.
That was pure bullshit, Persian Immortals were called Immortal because the army was huge and they were basically instantly replaced if they died. Due to this, 50% of them were badly trained and weren't all that good at fighting. Celts have better weaponry, armour and fighting skill, Celts wear cloth armour. If these guys played Age of empires this show would be much more correct.
Thats why Rome got so big, they were a very orginized civilization fighting agaisnt barbarians. Only reason they lost was because of the sheer amount of the barbarians and Rome having retarded leaders drive it into the ground.
The Immortals weren't actually that terribly great. The only reason why they were called Immortals was due to the sheer size of the Persian Army and how easy it was to replace the fallen. The Celt should have won due to the fact that a Persian would've been used to fighting with fear (hence the infamous title Immortal). Against a Celt (who fights on a more primitive nature and shows virtually no fear) it would've been near impossible for the Persian to win.
@rikgales123 And your point is? This entire show is bullshit because no one actually knows who would win unless it was a completely biased fight (like a caveman and a bloody marine). The Celt would've won and anyone who believes otherwise (in my own opinion) is a fool.
@Tareltonlives They were famous for numbers, not fighting ability. What research did you do? Wikipedia? Or some biased trash? Either way in a 1 vs 1, he would've lost.
@Tareltonlives Immortals werent that amazing. they were more skilled then the infantry made up of conscripts and slaves but their greatest advantage stemed from their reputation which came from the accounts of their enemies who whould cut one down and then he'd suddenly be fighting the same man or some BS like that. they all dressed the same and had the same equipment and were relentless as hell, the reputation was crushing to the morale of thier enemies, the "of crap they'r invincible" effect.
@Tareltonlives Also, if they were 'Elite' troops, why the fuck didn't they destroy the greeks at Thermopylae? After all they were half the strength of the Immortals, and even then Xerxes had to use a literal crap tonne of basic infantry and archers. You should educate yourself before trying to do so to me.
@bloomy2293 celt vas kinda badass and fearless but imortals where 11000persian army was huge and well trained, imortalls where best of the best soooooooooo its clear why they won
@legostopmotions011 Immortals weren't the best of the best. Period. Also this is (as you clearly haven't noticed) one vs one. Also there were only 10, 000 Immortals at a time. Learn to spell, learn to argue, and generally learn a fair amount of ancient world history.
@bloomy2293 It was more reputation because no matter what there were ALWAYS 10,000 Persian Immortals and the enemy NEVER saw any of them dead, making it seem that they could never be killed. And don't forget that the Persian was more disciplined than the Celt who was used to charging into battle as we saw and had better weapons. I still agree that the Celt SHOULD have been MUCH harder to beat.
@bloomy2293 I am from the isle of man (extremely celtic) and i have to say, once seeing my mate being taken out by a cowardly bastard 'Immortal' arrow, i'd get the celtic blood up, whip out the sword and charge without fear of death at my enemy. If i died, i'd meet my mate, so what the hey. We should have won through sheer frightening effect anyway. Look at us. Mess with me, bitch?! :L
@bloomy2293 I disagree. This fight is actuall kind of interesting.
The Immortales were Persian (maybe some allied too) nobleman. They would have been given military training at an early age. And that whicker sheild and armor is actuall more durable than it looks.
Of course, the celts were raised warriors toothiswouldbewhoevrissmartr
@bloomy2293 Celts were notorious for running away- the celts had no army, they had a millitia.
The Persians too were mostly a militia, so it is very hard to say who would win in a one on one fight. But a richer celtic warrior and a persian immortan might be on par. Armywise, the persians would win.
@Caradepato2 Celts were the dominant force in pre-Roman Europe. They lived in inter-connected tribes and they also had specialised warriors as well as militia. Celtic kings used to split their territory between their sons when they died. This ultimately led to the isolation of tribes from other Celts, which in turn led to their eventual displacement by the Romans. Britons (Celts who had migrated to Britain), specifically the South Wales Silurians, resisted Roman rule for decades.
@welshforever95 yes, all true. I am not knowledgable as i would like about the inland celts, i know more of my acesters in the celtiberians and the lusitanians. But that does not change the fact that their armies were mainly militia. Just like everyplace. I wasnt saying against as much as i was speaking my mind, if you understand me.
@Caradepato2 But when the Romans eventually did come to control Britain the Britons had no real reason to fight as they were protected by the Roman Empire. Without war the Britons developed culturally, linguistically and, believe it or not, technologically. However this meant that when the Romans left the Britons were vulnerable to attack by the Gaels (Irish Celts) and Anglo-Saxons.
You said "Celts were notorious for running away". I haven't heard this myself, but these are possible reasons why.
@welshforever95 What i really meant is that, like all militia armies, celts had discipline problems compared to romans and the like. And you are right in that romans kept their power diplomatically as well as millitiarily in most places. What you have to understand is that many celtic tribes, especially ones in britain and gaul, essentially lacked a proffesional core that some others like the Boii possessed.
Celts aren't cave men. The majority of them were farmers but during the roman invasion of Britain the Scottish celts became guerella soldiers and were so effective that they manage to keep the worlds greatest war machine out of Scotland. And Ireland is a Celtic nation but not where the celts came from
The celts were fearless fuckers haha im a little bit dead in side now coz the celt died and my family originated from Ireland soo yea :( in my heart the celts kick ass
@edgarassasa you & your family would know about cave men being that you are. This was bullshit, & the only reason you're saying anything to the contrary is because you're probably from the persian region. Any celt, any day would demolish a persian anything, especially with the burda. this was bs because it completely contradicted all of the tests they did.
Why would you let the naked guy drive your chariot!?!?

The celts beat the Romans because they used GEURILLA TACTICS. In a 1-on1, it'd be interesting.

In conclusion, it'd be down to the skill of the individual.
