  • It is amazing how technology affects our lives.

  • will you marry me!!???

  • gosh, i love your voice, no lie. it's amazing.

  • Without the internet our politicians wouldn't get so many wet dreams about building the perfect surveillance state >:-(

  • iick, dail up. I had that up until about 4-5 years ago. But my mom's work made her get highspeed, thank goodness! If it wasn't for her work, we would probably still have dail up.

  • Dial.

  • Why wont you just die!

  • Lol because I corrected you?

  • I'm in the same boat as you Adam lol, and I've only had the internet since I was 16, how did I ever manage without it lol.

  • You are so man pretty. mm ;)

  • haha i tried to hide the dial up noises too! good times

  • I love you and your beautiful accent.

  • it be intesting to see how ppl think in the next few decades being a generation of internet. I am sure the generation of TV has changes our views ie, being more media orentated and impatient, wanting to always be entertain.

  • I seriously love you. Your accent is SEXY.

  • Nice dial-up story, Adam!

  • haha i remember dial up noises. sounded like a car alarm =)

  • Your so funny. :D

  • I remember 1p dial up after 6 and on weekends lmoa so annoying.

  • You're so hot it's not even funny.........

  • DIAL UP NOISES. <3

  • you are so hott it makes me sick...

  • nah not that different :P

  • do you only have one of your ears guaged?

  • let us not even speak of a world without the internet. don't want to jinx it.

  • you are very charming..............and the internet didn't give you that xo

  • u've changed adam... your videos have changed :(

  • I guess I lived long enough without it, you may have still turned out the same. It seems we always have the same thing but done differently. Early western culture, we'd play music for entertainment, then later it was radio, then tv and sharing slide shows and then sharing videos. Who knows? You still might have been liked and gotten oppurtunities without the internet because people used to network more (offline, of course). :) It's hard to say. (I was 15 when we got internet access)

  • this is so true all our likes and dislikes would be different

  • DAMN i like your accent :D

  • i remembered the dail up.

AOL was very popular back in the day.

    not so much today.

  • Geg, I used to use a pillow to drown out that dial-up sound lol.

  • like porn...

  • I feel exactly the same as you.

  • Cant really make assumptions like that.

  • I remeber the 6 PM ban! xD

  • Hmm, without the internet, I would never have met a friend of mine, or gone to Scotland with him. Or moved to New Zealand. Yeah, I'd be in a very different place right now.

  • God how I hated the dial up noise. It just returned to my head, and all I see is the AOL logo ahaha.

  • Oh dial up! I remember I would have to mute the computer as well so my parents couldn't hear the dun dun dun dun screeching sound that it would make

  • hahahahah oh my god hah i did the same thing!

i dropped clothes in the modem so my parents couldnt see the lights and wake up because it was in their bedroom

and i always went in the middle of the night ahahah ohh that times!

    haha dial up sucked ;C

    love you adam take care!!

    ;DD

  • Without the internet, would you miss me? lol <3

  • I went the whole summer without the internet, and to be honest, it wasn't that bad. I mean yes, a lot of my music and stuff is online, but I think that a lot of things would be better if people were not on the internet so much.

  • I'd go crazy without the internet.

  • Well, thank god for the internet then, because you're awesome.

  • You would still be a very special person.

  • I went without internet for about....3 months, the whole summer, i got grounded, it was really bad the first week and then it got betetr

  • how did u survive :| three months i went without 2 days and i got sooooo bored!

  • without the internet, you'd probably have a closer friendship with your neighbours, your schoolmates, and people you see in real life.

  • I agree.

  • i was without internet for 3 days once...it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be

  • omg same here. [stalker thoughts?]

  • omgsh saaaame :D xx

  • without the internet i never would have met you awesome adam and that would be a huge loss. You are amazing and brilliant! I got the internet in 2000 and it was dial up at first before we got dsl in our area. I still remember those noises any my mother getting annoyed at me for bloking the phone line, lol.

  • only one plug?

  • Ha! I remember Dial Up connection, AOL and you could never use the home phone whilst on it.

  • Without the internet I would be smarter because then I would have nothing to distract me. I might have been studying right now.

  • without the internet I wouldn't be unique...

  • I had to live without the internet for almost two weeks...TORTURE!!!

  • I do not know at all what I'd be like without internet. I'd go crazy first if it was taken away because I'm hopelessly into youtube and my subscriptions and all my friends and such and I've had a computer since I was like 7 or 8 or something. I'd be a complete other person. I wish I could meet the non-internet me, haha.

  • You need to get out more. ;) hahah

  • Without the Internet, I would in no way be as intelligent as I am today.

  • when italktosnakes came on wit this, i actually had no internet!

  • wen THIs was uploaded my internet was broken, its only fixed now, i was DIEING back there!

  • how many comments have you ever got saying that they love your accent?

  • I love your accent!

  • YES, trying to silence the modem. hahah. And paying for your ISP by the number of minutes you can use. Priceless.

  • Haha so true :) nice video

  • i used to fight my sibling for the computer too...

  • i was without for two weeks too get my computer fixed i was like omg i went crazy couldn't stand it

  • I would be different without the Internet. I wouldnt have the experiences and your so right about them Adam.

I do remember dial up and the 6pm thing as well mate.

  • id be a complete idiot without the internet.

  • haha I remember dial-up. I thought it was the most amazing thing on the planet.

  • I remember times before television when we'd listen to radio for programs such as 'the inner sanctum' and in high school, manual typewriters...so in 40 years, your grandkids will be asking you how you managed without teleportation :)

  • I remember dial-up too. When I had it, I was all patient and stuff, now I have high-speed, and if it goes slow, I'm like, 'NOOO!!!!!" lol

  • I totally remember fighting with my brother for internet time... xD My neopets needed feeding :(

  • I've never noticed before this video the way your ear lobes wiggle when you talk. It's quite mesmerising.

woooo dialup good times. i remember the old arguments over who's turn it was to use the net or how long you'd been on for cause of the phone bills.

they were dark times. thank god for wireless boradband

  • remember when people used to sign off ICQ in the middle of a conversation because their internet disconnected...because they got a phone call?

I think the dial-up noise is ingrained in my head forever.

  • I remember that too!!

  • omg i remember dial up!

n u couldn be on the internet at the same time someone was on the phone

  • You can't even fathom it haha.

  • Hi, I've never checked you out before, but Phil & Mr Byrne tell me you're such a lovely bloke, they seem to be right x

  • omg, i would flip and i too remember the dial up crap, i hated it so much lol

  • just cant get enough of listening to your accent xD

  • I completely agree with you. It's insane.

  • you know apperetly if you have an earring on the left ear and your a man your gay

    just pointing that out=]

    XxXx

  • nope. really if you have an earring on your left your straight.

but really, people should stop judging people by piercings.

  • I was just saying i heard it somewhere

i would never do that especially to adam =P

    xXxX

  • actually its the right. same as a watch.. lol.

  • you realize that idea was abandoned 20-some years ago?

  • i love the modem and clothes thing :D

  • I remember when you couldn't use the phone while someone was on the internet.

    Good old days.

Also, the days of UTV internet.

  • It's kind of sad that we KNOW that we would be completly different without internet... It shows how addicted we are to it.

  • I can't even imagine it. Since we're the same age, I was about 9 or 10 when we got an internet connection, too. But now that I'm trying to remember what the heck I did on the internet at that age...nothing comes to my mind. Weird.

But later I actually designed (and coded by hand, hah) web pages for different companies when I was about 14 :D I have no idea how I learned HTML or any of that stuff. Or why, for that matter. Geez I was a weird kid. Still am though...

  • Without the Internet I would die inside.

  • We had a DOS based computer when I was about 8 and internet a few years later. I was sorta afraid of the internet for quite a few years and didn't really get into it until my late teens.

But I agree, I would be an entirely different person without the internet. My opinions and thought processes. What I know and don't know. What I can and can't do. Even how I look to a degree, would be different without the internet.

  • Hahaha. Throwing your clothes on the modem to muffle it's dialing/handshake noise. Somebody should've told you about ATL0 and ATM0. Those are the commands to lower a modem's speaker volume to nothing (L0) and turn it off completely (M0). (Yes, I come from a time where you had to give the modem commands yourself to make it do things, like ATDTxxxx to have it 'Dial xxxx using Tones'.), or ATH0 to make it hang up. Aah, good old times.

  • I sometimes wonder what it's like for today's kids who grew up with the Internet. I was an adult already when I got the Internet. Even back then, I spent so much time on it that I had to get a second phone line just for Internet. Otherwise, nobody would've ever been able to use the phone.

  • i feel you

my sister is doing just that

trying to make me live without the internet

    :( it's painful

  • she's apparently failing as well =P

  • epic fail XP

  • i remember dial up and yeah after 6 :)

i had dial up for a month on holiday, god i know the difference, gmail in basic! o.0

    shocking :)

  • I would be studying now. I don't like the internet, for that reason, but I know I could not function without it. It's sad really...

  • My story is so similar to yours. Keep up the great videos :)

  • just at the end of this video me and my dad had a brief discussion and even his generation he says would be different without the internet it effects everybody its crazy to think about it on that scale but its true.

  • im 19 and i didnt get the internet in my house until 3 years ago lmao

  • You story about growing up with the internet is far to similar to mine with my little brother... heh

  • hehe I remember sneaking into my dad's office and go online.. I only did it to play this weird car-game and to chat :) someone online once told me it costed about £2/hour to be online.. I was sooo scared that my parents would fine out xD

  • where do you think you would be?

  • Life would be sooooooo different!

  • your the best adam!

bless the internet on behalf of all of us.

  • id be lost...and then i couldnt watch you on the interwebz!

  • hottie :)
