  • I have a playlist of all his tutorials on my channel (and a link to a missing one that isn't on youtube). go to warbeats to view them all or use my playlist. This guy's a genius!!

  • NICE !

So simply explained. Love the frequency terminology.

I've been learning the Trivium / Quadrivium at TragedyAndHope D.O.T. com where music is part of the Quadrivium ( Math, Geometry, Music, & Astronomy ).

It time for me to lean an instrument.

  • FINALLY A GREAT TUTORIAL ABOUT NOTES! I LOVE YOU MAN !

  • nfx is genius !

  • Did you all know that C was banned a long time ago cuz it was "the devil's note" ?!

Theres a fact for yall to know..

  • @reactor4music No dude, they didn't ban a note. They banned an interval. Look up 'tritone' or 'diabolus in musica' on Wikipedia.

  • for someone that has never taken a class in music, this literally opened my eyes. thank u!

  • It starts on C because it's the most used note in music

  • great tutorial my man. thanks for sharing

  • Hey Man greats tut. thanks

  • Thank you! I now understand a keyboard, My school tried to do the same thing and failed :D

And i attend grammarschool so your one heck of an music teacher

  • I don't really know much about music, and this really helped! Thank you! I just have one question, because theres no black bar between E and F, does that mean there's no such thing as a E-sharp and F-flat key?

  • excellent tutorial

  • Thank you so much!

  • Is it good to buy a keyboard?

  • @philip75000 It depends on what exactly you are seeking to get out of it. If you are looking to learn basic piano, then a keyboard works just as well. Some keyboards will cover the basics while others are good for actually studying for the piano or organ.

  • Thank you

  • Wow... as cheesy as it sounds, this felt empowering. I was always so intimidated by pianos because of their complexity, but this makes it a lot easier to understand. Thanks so much!

  • thanx a lot . it really helps

  • Thanks for the Tutorial!!

  • wow i never knew this. holy shxt

  • I love you so much

  • keep it up!!

  • Im currently learning the eletric guitar so i thought the best place to start is ground zero: music notes!, very helpfull thankyou!

  • u deserve the title sir. i think u are the most brilliant musician ever.

  • Thank you, this tutorial help me so much.

  • Great tutorial mate. The series start in C because A only makes reference to concert A or 440 hz the note that a pitch fork produces. Usually all orchestras tune their instruments to this pitch.

  • NFX I am confused about something, does it matter what frequency your sound is before you put it on the keyboard? I mean like, c4 might be 400hz and c5 might be 500hz, c5 is the normal key so you need a 500hz sound?

( i know the values are wrong )

  • Cool!

  • sweet man very informative and helpful like all your tutorials, thank you so very much for posting

  • great one,well done ! 5*

  • hi can all the black keys be like c sharp d sharp or just d sharp ???

  • Thank you very much. This video is very informative and I have been looking for only such kind of videos. Please do more informative videos like this.

  • great vid. very informative.

i'd bet that octaves were discovered after the notes were named. that's why it starts at c. :)

  • You mention that you have wondered why C was not orignally named A. Here is the true historical way the letternames and the scale were first defined. My video is called:

"Naming the white keys on the piano - a historical note"

I think it is a real pity that this original definition of "bass" keys, (A to G), then "middle keys" (a to g) then "treble keys" (aa to gg) has been forgotten.

The C to C terminology is not logical.

  • spierdalaj, moze i angielskiego dobrze nie znam ale nie napinam sie tak jak ty kurwo z podstawowki , nie znasz polskiego wiec nie zrozumiesz słowa pierdol sie!

  • Thanks, very good tutorial

  • szkoda ze nie po Polsku ale dzieki za tutorial troche czaje:)

  • Omg cmon learn english and raise the number of polish ppl speaking english to 0.01% !

  • @Piliskner

No need to be rude here mate.英語以外どんな外国語話せるの?

  • @Piliskner Not everyone speaks English. They don't have to learn it just to make you happy... :l

  • you explain this so well!

  • I've always known that an octave has 8 keys (there's a hint on the name), which mean it starts from C and ends in C..I'm just saying..

  • yeaa... I read a book and found out the same thing like you said.

I think we just follow the book??

  • A great one!! Thanks!

If you know more, just tell me.

    Message me.

  • what a legend. thanks for all your tutorials

  • Thanks, cant believe I learmed this so quickly!!!

  • ok theres something pissing me off, and i cant find out how to do it, say i have 4/4 timing and each button on the step sequencer is a 16th note... how do i change the 16ht note to something faster like a 32nd or 64th note? and i know i can possible go through and make the tempo higher but thats just a bunch of steps i shouldnt have to do.

    Is this possible?

  • Actually I guess it is possible.

It is possible in Logic pro and I think in FL studio too but honestly piano roll is just faster. Watch some other tutorials by Sir nfxbeats (you kick ass!) you'll see him do it.

  • Thank You SO MUCH! :)

  • thx this helped

  • can someone tell me how to take the pops and static out of my beat....it is ruining it help me please

  • crappy samples? could be sound driver issue? I'd need more info in order to help.

  • Hit F10, click on the audio button on the left, slide the buffer bar to the right until the clicks stop. I had this problem on my laptop and this fixed it.

It slows down FL Stud but you can always quantize your piano roll if it comes in too slowly.
