I Know what its like to be labled.... mine is not in a bad way... but when I was in Highschoool I Studied Medical Arts at a Technical school and now I am a Biology Major in College & everyone comes running to me when they feel sick or have something wrong with them....

in some way i am kind of like you Val, love working with my hands and i am very creative and precise, my parents wanted me to become a lawyer. but i escaped and on the way of becoming a very talented surgeon! drawing as a hobby :)

I think we all can...I have always been very tall (5'11 is tall for a girl) and because i did some modelling and so did my friends I got labelled by teachers and people who didn't know me well as a kind of bimbo who is not intelligent...I decided to go in a different direction work wise and it is hard to break the mould that you have been labelled as....I think everyone can relate in some way...we are all individuals and have very unique talents

some tech advice for you - the audio compression is to high - you're voice is so distorted at times that it's hard to understand you, even when watching the HQ version. Other than that, it was awesome :) Waiting for another one (though not another flower of course ;) ).

another wonderful painting... when I was in high school, I drew a lot, free hand with a pencil... but there were always people that labled me as a tracer ( someone who traces the work of another) and it was more insulting to me than anything else... it still offends me even today, so I know what it is like to be labled something that annoys you.

Your "tech friend" is facing a common problem for everyone entering the present design/art field. Which is you need to know computers to use design programs like coral/abobe ect. Yet if you come off as too computer savvy people assume you have no artistic backing. This stereotype is mainly used by older people in the art field against younger newcomers. The truth is if you want a design job every ad has a mile long list of required programs. So people using these stereotypes are hypocrites.

Lables are just that, lables. Sometimes projections society has, (to catagorize) and people also catagorize and project lables. It's center is the human ego. But most lables are wrong and missplaced. No biggy, just paint what you want, whats in your core. You can't worry about what others will lable you or your work. This can be a major cause of artist block, stuck in others illusions and lables. Another great video Val.
...That camera sounds & looks like a Canon, I hete those things, lol. Although one of my cameras is a Hi-8 canon that's about 20 years old and for some reason it seems farm ore dependable then the newer one.

I've had to deal with labels throughout my life. So I understand completely. I think people put labels onto others when they don't understand that person. The labeler feels that because they don't understand, that somehow makes them inferior or makes them look ignorant...so, they put labels.
That is how I feel about it, at least. Maybe some others do too. :)

Yeah its good to adhere to labels that are appropriate like say the "Hand Wash ONLY" label the toy company put on me but Val seems to like to defy it by throwing me into the washing machine.

Lables are just that, lables. Sometimes projections society has, (to catagorize) and people also catagorize and project lables. It's center is the human ego. But most lables are wrong and missplaced. No biggy, just paint what you want, whats in your core. You can't worry about what others will lable you or your work. This can be a major cause of artist block, stuck in others illusions and lables. ...That camera sounds & looks like a Canon, I hete those things, lol. Although one of my cameras is a Hi-8 canon that's about 20 years old and for some reason it seems farm ore dependable then the newer one.

I've had to deal with labels throughout my life. So I understand completely. I think people put labels onto others when they don't understand that person. The labeler feels that because they don't understand, that somehow makes them inferior or makes them look ignorant...so, they put labels.
That is how I feel about it, at least. Maybe some others do too. :)

aww. i love the painting. i love to defy the labels others put on me. im pretty shy, so at first people label me a quiet person. but once you get to know me, you'll see im not such a quiet little girl.

Hmmm...interesting...Val doesn't like adhering to labels but likes to label things herself...like the time she put a "sign here" label on her forehead in her split personality episode
...and one time they wouldn't let her take me into the courtroom but she kept objecting for "Odor in the Court!"....I guess I should thank her for labeling me there but I'm still not sure what to make of her deviant behaviour...

Yeah its good to adhere to labels that are appropriate like say the "Hand Wash ONLY" label the toy company put on me but Val seems to like to defy it by throwing me into the washing machine.
I guess at this point I have no option but to either "stink or swim" :(
