Perhaps you're looking at it the wrong way. Have you considered that people giving this a thumbs down are doing so not because it's man-work, but because it's really BAD man-work? Perhaps the "Haters" aren't haters at all. Perhaps they're experienced people who, rather watching this non-committed dog be FED a sleeve, would rather see quality obedience on the part of the dog, along with some quality agitation on the part of the decoy. Clearly neither are present in this video.

Well trained attack dog. I bet with one command word it would've backed off straight away. Proper training with pads and proffesionals is exactly what we need to enforce to even private owners who think they can handle a large breed.

This dog is a working class breed, it's being trained to guard. This dog is not a terrible dog, it's been trained to guard, and it did a wonderful job.
@drewsisely do you see the the guy that come in from the right with the things on his arms? those padding are used in training exercise. so this is a video of it being trained.
@drewsisely I would gather that the person doing the training was more training it to keep people out of an area then attacking. You'll notice that he was not allowed to advance on the guy with the pads on. I think the goal was to train it to be an aggressive defense guard dog. Kind of like my Akita's. I wouldn't want to hop a fence if I knew that dog was going to give me the business on the other end.

I thing in next century the GS still be with us. But LGDs will be first dogs who extint (along with short coat molosers)

@drewsisely I would gather that the person doing the training was more training it to keep people out of an area then attacking. You'll notice that he was not allowed to advance on the guy with the pads on. I think the goal was to train it to be an aggressive defense guard dog. Kind of like my Akita's. I wouldn't want to hop a fence if I knew that dog was going to give me the business on the other end.

@aviomaster Yes. In Yugoslavia use GS and šars. But šars are used beacouse tradition and they are theirs more then beacouse they are better then GS. Šars.are mostly used for guarding only. With GS they do everything But šars are mostly locked in a hutch and relase at night to guard. But even in this they are begin slowly pushed out by GS. I thing in next century the GS still be with us. But LGDs will be first dogs who extint (along with short coat molosers)

@Reptornicus CO and CAO have been known to hunt wild boar and i have seen pic's and video of this from breeder's i know in Russia and Fox fire Kennel's in Niagara NY has plenty of pic's of CAO females bringing down large boar i.e. larger than the dog itself so how is a boar a small mammal it's the same prey species that the dogo is used to hunt in fact they are used as hog dogs by Aussies . and what you say about them running from a threat is not true. they're not called Volkodav for nothing !

@Reptornicus A cornered Wolf will fight with conviction you fool and European Wolves are not much of a problem for either CO, CAO or Kangal and if like you claim had actually any experience with these three breed's you would know that the Kangal has the softer temp of the three that's a fact ! And FYI Alabai and their regional variation's have been used by nomad's and tribes men for fighting for centuries but the tribesmen and nomad's value them to much to fight them to the death !

He is to slow and have longer coat and heavy body so become tired quickly. Dogo have a anatomy for hunt. She can run chase and is fast enough to fight vs boar and put him down can CAO do it?
