  • how do they get the thing to corner without the back pogoing all over the place?>>RINGER

  • the thing i hate about yamaha bikes are the side mirrors looking like they are for mWW2

  • 240p we meet again...

  • @vvlturn real men watch all videos in 240p :D

  • love the Border Wars/Dog Whisperer soundtrack

  • This review blows monkey nuts.

  • i want one, i walked into a dealership, guy was like $6500, and i walked out with a drz400sm and $2000 in my pocket.....

  • i would get one of these over a ninja 250 any day

  • Honestly that review was terrible. I want to hear numbers, not just BS and videos of people riding the bike!

  • ew i dont like the look of the exhaust pipe

  • In Germany it is fully legal to wheel your motorbike as long as you can keep it under control :DD

  • @fatzke0208 Germany is the home of gas junkies

  • these dont have that retarded 5 valve engines do they?

  • @bandguy360 they guy said 4 valves...

  • i have a WR250R, top speed about 90. Pretty sick bike. Great looking, 70 mpg (I weigh 150), and easy to ride.

  • I like riding my WRR, lots of fun. I just need to finish breaking in the new engine before I can really let loose.

  • watch sandy pocket industries...for some good shit

  • Beautiful!

In Brazil we have the Yamaha XTZ 250X (Find pictures on google) Beautiful too!

  • COOL

  • I`ve got a yamaha dt 50r, and i think this is the best trail/enduro motorbike on 250cc.

  • This beats the KLX250S for sure

  • How would the RR be for a first bike? Looking to sell my car and get a dual sport, hear plenty of good things about this and the KLX250S.

  • RR? like CBR600/1000 RR?

  • i think he meant "WR(250)R"

  • Moto USA's usally bland and almost blank review of another low displacment bike. It seems if it doesn't rip their arms out of the sockets, headshake like mad, and wheelie in 5th gear they are bored to tears with it. To them 250's are full of common sence features. Give me a break. Sorry but this is a slow and boring review of the bike.

  • 85mpg ? or 85 miles to a tank ? 7liter tank, right ?

Id love one of these, just gotta find somewhere to keep it :p

If it gets 85mpg, Id have no troubles taking it places.

  • 85 MPG! The fuel light (half gallon left) usually comes on at around120 miles. And the power really isn't all that bad.

  • Cool, thatd be usefull just for knocking around on too. I live in the city, so Im a 30mile ride to the nearest woods.

    Thanks for the reply m8.

  • Any time! I have many praises for this bike. The only things that suck is that the exhaust (or clutch cover) gets really hot near the right leg, no tach, and even though its fuel injected, it will bog off the line until it warms up. Other than that, it's everything i'd hoped it would be!

  • Got my WR250X about 17 days ago. WOW! love this bike! I can honestly report an amazing 85mpg (ridden gentely), and is still plenty quick. My friend has a V-rod VRSCR and he doesn't get too far when cruising. GET THIS BIKE!!

  • i am plannin on gettin a wr250r 2008 model. but i really dont know it i should go from a dt125re 2stroke, to a 250 4stroke. how fast is it off the line, how fast do they feel. has anyone posted a video of the speedo 0-60mph or 0-100kph (good quality video)

  • dude, a four stroke 250cc won't be much quicker than your 125 stroker, you'll need to adapt to botom end torque and engine breaking, theirs just diffrent feels to a 4 and 2 stroke.. you probli know this, but as far as speed go, your 125 isn't much slower.

  • I miss this quality of reviews

  • @Blaze0303 agreed

  • on a straight road not uphill or downhill what is the top speed of this bike????i am thinking of buying this bike!!!i had an xr 250 1998 model and went prety good!!hoewer has this bike i want him to tell me waht he believes about the acceleration it has the torque it has and the top speed!!!!!!plzzzz somebody help me!!!thank you!!

  • a 450r would be so cool!!!!!!!

  • husky SM 610 is slow

I cant imagine how slow this has to be.

    450 would be nice

  • I want the WR250X so bad. Perfect bike to start with!

  • i dont understand road bikes, besides the really superior gas mileage they arnt that fun to ride unless ur breaking the law. or racing

but this is the best looking dual sport out there in my opinion

  • breaking the law with drifting or driving a wheelie is better than get hit by a car because of speeding. just my opinion

  • @gangstaawankstaa Much more fun too

  • @gangstaawankstaa And much cooler :))

  • whats the price of the X? please reply

  • here in middle europe the price for the X is about 6.900€ and the R is 6.600€.

BTW: here the WR 250 F road legal is 6.600€.

  • i live in the uk. will the road version of ths bike be goo for beginners?

  • is it good for a 6.3 guy?

  • I just bought one aye, im 6.3, i'll be able to tell u in a few weeks when it's ready to go, lol

  • is the wr250r good on gas??

  • my english is very bad but you know if this bike come to mexico

  • klx250s is alot better!

  • have you ridden one? i heard the ttr was better than that, and this bike a wild animal compared to the ttr.

  • Im looking into buying either the klx250s or the wr250r. Why do you say that the klx is a lot better? Have you ridden both? Any info would be very helpful. Thanks

  • The Yamaha's have more horsepower. You need to spend about $1000 to make the KLX equal the WR250R/X in horsepower. This is why the Yamaha's are already $1000 more MSRP.

With that said, I own a 2009 KLX250s and it's been a lot of fun.

  • good bike

  • hi, i will be getting this bike real soon and was wondering if they have any power? like the yz250f's but the gearing is set to trails? because i would still like to take it jumps and that aswell as bush.

  • First you should ask yourself what kind of bike would you like. When you compare yz with wr notice that the yz series was project on dirt mx arenas with higher power than torque. Wr series is an enduro bike - to ride on desert, in forests etc. Electriction isnt the only difference.

Well, i'm using wr250r since april, after 3000 km i could say that it was a good decision buying this bike. 31 km isn't much but enough for my novice skill driving ;)

  • how far do u get out of a tank of juice man, i've bought one n im just wondering bout how far i'll get, i work at a servo, so it' shouldn't be to much of a hastle

  • i bought the wrX bout a month ago, fun little bike, not much balls, comes stock with 13/42 gearing, i put a 14 tooth on the front becuz theres no top end unless you want to rev your engine like crazy, but now with the 14 on front, its way better, my speedo is actually on now, it was slow before...but fun bike, handles great, suspension is great, just no balls, keep in mind its a 250, and i weigh 200 lbs hah

  • which bike is better the wr250x or the suzuki drz400sm??

  • wr250x

  • How fast does it go?

  • i have a yz250f and im gonna put ot on the road soon wats the difference between this and the wr250 is it just the wr has lights n stuff as standerd?and siz geas where my yz has 5...

  • Great review!

  • ... i want that supermoto version ;((

  • Rode one recently. They're pretty heavy and underpowered in stock trim.

  • oh im in denver colorado

  • it is and it is not deppends how big you are and how you handel a bike

  • which is a better bike to start off with like for begginers and which is just overall a better bike????????????????

  • if your looking for off-road id get the ttr-230 if your 5'10 or taller but if your shorter go for the ttr-125

  • well im like 6 feet tall i sat on one already, the sm model it felt right like for comfort, i do have so background on motorycles cuz i used to dirtbike so i guess another ques. would be which is better this one or the suzuki drz 400 sm

  • i dont know suzuki at all but another bigger faster bike would be the honda crf250x which would be a screamer! or the crf230f maby

  • im getting this bike to learn on and to explore, and the guy said this bike is good for learning, and once your skilled, it will also do what you want.

  • Drop the price 1000-1500 maybe it would be worth it. $6000? Niagra please!

  • off topic but i got a question if any 1 could help me i was curious s my 1980 yamaha ''could be street legil'' its got head lights and brake light and ill soon put turn signals on it..and after that would the care if i still have my dirt tires on it?

  • where abouts do you live?

  • indicator are a bit huge xd

  • i just got the wr250x yesterday and i was puting the regular dirtbike tires on it and its a bitch to take off the street tires

  • Meh, Yamaha and Super-moto.... not impressed. Get the 450, and some good gear, that bike will throw you.

Oh, SS - how do ya like that K(eep)T(wo)M(echanics)? :P

    Awesome bike anyway -

It's not what you ride, it's THAT you ride -

    Rubber side down :D....

  • 70+ mpg street; the weight is displaced low so it doesn't feel as bad as the 280lbs or so it is advertised at. this bike smokes any other dual sport on the trails except maybe the husqvarna, so you people must be smoking crack.

  • i have this bike and really enjoy it! it rides much better than my 2001 xr400 on the street and trail.

  • Sweet video! I'm about to start super moto along with my 6 years of racing in pro. karts. So hopefully this year i'll be racing pro. karts and super moto as well, and the 250X is the bike that is my sites for my first bike.

  • The 250X isnt a racingmotorcycle, so using it for supermoto sounds like an stupid idea... Get an WR250F instead.

  • "...immensely more enjoyable to ride..."? By whose' standards? I'd take any of the other small dual sports over this one. This thing is fucking heavy as hell for its size! And that is not good for trail riding!

  • Although the supermoto might be alright for street. But it would get ravaged by the much cheaper ninja. Hell you can get a 500 for cheaper. Why would anyone want it? To each is own...

  • I gotta agree, and as the owner of a 400SM, I know my bike would rape the WR250X on the street, track, trails, whatever...for about the same cost.

What is Yamaha thinking charging $6K for a 250?????

  • well its yamaha...everything is overpriced

  • @SpeedingStudent wr250r cost 8000$ in canada, too expensive for a 250.

For little more, i can get a ktm or a husky.

  • ok after actually watching that video maybe my big fat american ass does want a 400cc+ dual sport...

  • Hey I'm a big fat american who races a CRF450 on the weekends but I am interested in this 250 for street use, it will get like 60MPG (should get more but I'm seeing that it only gets 60) and it should get around just fine

  • My wr250f gets 40mpg. It is a blast to go ditch riding to work! Just gotta watch out for guy wires, old broken signposts, etc. Driveway embankments make for nice jumps. I have had mine since 2003 (street legal). I think a 450 would be better, but 250 is still fun. It cost me $6500 for the bike and stuff to make it street legal, so I think Yamaha's price is good, and it is ready to rock and roll out the door.

  • Yeah give us the 450, 250cc is for little girls and canadians.

  • fuck you buddy.

  • awesome!

  • Great commentary and no microphone!!!! Now you've got it....

  • Hey YAMAHA put the 450cc engine in there!!!!

  • You read my mind. Then they'd have something.

  • I've been waiting for this review for a long time~ Thanks!!

  • sweet! :P
