  • Goodbye Flash, we've had a long and bumpy road filled with security threats, privacy violations, and resource hogging.

  • same here i hope google make webm or html5 simpler cause right now it is a drag!i bet most dont bother when they see you need to download flash sign they just go and download it lol!

  • Would be a great video if it is stabilized :D Stabilized video + The music video = Nature's song :D

  • runs like a champ on my custom built gaming rig . chrome 13 here. just joined the html5 youtube beta trail thingy. cheers.

  • If this is an html5 video, why do I need to download FLASH10 ????

  • no its being very laggy on my latest linux release

  • It isn't that good.

If we implemend HTML5, it should be togglable (on/off) because:

    - It takes off 100% of the CPU.

    - It doesn't support 240p.

    - The sound is late sometimes.

Atleast on my laptop, videos DO player faster, but these are the issues^^.

I can view 1080p videos perfectly, but, sound is late, the screen is fast normally.

I am momently not using HTML5, because it takes away 100% of my CPU, and I can't work normally like that! Example: put some music, minimize, you can't work normal. -_-

  • @KillerMars1 Why do you want a HD video to be played in 240p?

and it only use 40% of my cpu

  • Works great in IE9 as long as you turn compatibility mode off. I don't like the new controls but thats no big deal. They should make the controls fade and make them black. I'd like to know how they implemented full screen mode (F11 key). The default player on my HTML5 web page has no full screen controls.

  • Ok, so this comment is using Google Chrome, it's MUCH better, almost no CPU usage, and a flawless video. Chrome is my standard browser again! :)

  • wow, that was fast.

  • what format are u using? formats for html5: .mp4 , .ogv , etc

  • My internet sucks, but I can definitely tell that this is faster than Flash. In 360p, it loads seamlessly without any problems. In 720p, It still loads pretty well, but the sound seems a bit distorded. (In other words, it stops and goes every 500 miliseconds.) But it's pretty cool.

  • Smoking fast, even in HD on my Linux Netbook (:

I really hope all youtube videos are going to be converted to HTML5.

By the way, may I ask you what's the name of the song you used? (=

  • @emotivenextway The song is Memory Tapes - Swimming Field

  • Wow, fully buffered quick compared to normal flash videos

  • dont you need a brower that can load html 5 features to actually watch this in full quality?

  • search some hobbies!!!!!1

  • WOW it loaded in 20 secs

  • When I press 720p it goes directly over to Flash...

  • @NorwegianCrows how can you tell?

  • I think the poster has missed something here...

html 5 imbeds normal videos into the webpage sothat no flash would be needed.

to enable this on youtube go to "youtube dot com slash html5" and click on enable. then you will be able to view ALL videos as in html5.

  • Great quality

  • theres only one problem... even with html5 beta it still plays in flash XD

  • this isn't even html5, it's flash?! am I missing something here.

  • @beee000 the poster probably wanted to promote his vid

  • @beee000 you have to join the beta

  • My cpu usage didnt go above 10% while playing in 720p haha

  • 10% of both CPUs

    HTML5: ~ 80% for each CPU

Flash: ~ 90% for each CPU

  • very nice 3-6 %

  • yah, or you could use my core i5-430m with integrated graphics and it sits at 5% at 720p...

  • excellent quality on my macbookpro running safari4, on 720p was sitting 17-20% CPU unlike flash which uses 40-60%. Although would much prefer an actual "full screen" view without the toolbars from browser.

  • main thing is for me. now with html5, my computer still heats up. but not like when im running flash. can fry an egg when running flash.

  • Using Safari, both quality and speed are great.

  • looks better in flash

  • nice

  • html 5 is goooood

  • It loads faster but the scaling is terrible. It looks to be a problem with the Chrome player, not the video itself.

I'm leaving the HTML5 beta now until they actually work it out!!

  • Was choppy on html5 720p with chrome beta 4.1

however worked well with flash at 720p with same chrome.

I wish html5 would use my h.264 decoder. It does a much better job.

  • Remember this is 360 only not the higher en res.

  • No the original is a 720p you need to choose the higher resolution to watch it. The 360 is just Youtube standard to limit unnecessary bandwidth I guess.

  • Mmmm, my screen remains black when I switch to 720p. Occasionally I've seen this issue before, anybody knows why?

  • because on the video in html5 we can see small square on rounded edge whereas in normal video there aren't

  • the htlm5 buffers very fast but the quality is not very good than normal videos

  • I don't think that's true at all. The quality looks the same to me.

  • Weird, to me it's a lot grainer, like the resolution is very low, but flash looks fine to me. Though it's like 1000x faster which is great

  • gillar när du filmar ditt sprejande...ser grymt ut

  • 00:47 is really lovely
